Chasing away Chubby

The scale gods smiled down on me.

Good morning ladies!  As always the weekend did not last long enough for me!

So after being completely down this weekend over the fact that I wasn’t dropping any weight & was working so hard, I got up this morning and the scale said…

219!!!  YEAH!  That is 2 more pounds down!!!  WHOOO HOOOO!!!  That makes me happy!  I took the entire weekend off from exercise.  It wasn’t intentional but I guess my body needed the break.

Saturday was my hometown’s annual 5K and I didn’t run. I was so jealous when I passed all the runners at the festival with the looks of satisfaction on their sweaty faces.  UGH!  That could have been me!!!  So I decided to quit wussing out and run a 5K.  I looked on the race calendar and the one I wanted to do in November isn’t posted.  :( It is really cool.  Every year the KY horse park has the southern lights- they decorate the park in lights.  Last year they did a 5K at night so you got to run through the lights.  I wanted to do that one, but its not posted so I guess they are not gonna do it this year.  There are 2 coming up in October the next town over and there is one also in October in the town where I go to college.  IDk…I will think about it and then decide!

So I got up this morning and began a 5K training program.  I ran 10 mins at 6RPE (rate of percieved exertion) and walked 2 mins, I did that 3 times. I really pushed myself (I probably was past 6RPE) especially on the first one, but htat is okay.  I need to push myself some.  I was going for runs and come back barely sweaty!!  I was really sweaty this time. So including warm up and cool down I got in 50 mins. Only 25 more mins to go today.  I am still debating about what to do.  I am thinking 30 minutes on the exercise bike will be good.

Food over the weekend wasn’t the best, but I did log my calories and I TRIED to make good choices.  I am going to eat really light today because tonight I am making enchiladas and I want to make sure I do not go over my calories!

Have a great day chickees!

  1. Signing up for a race can be such great motivation. Too bad that night one isn’t posted, it sounds really cool! Way to go on the 2 pounds.
