Chasing away Chubby

Updating…

I am sorry I have been MIA again lately.  It has not been intentional, just so busy.  I did not get to start hell week until today.  So for the next 7 days I must work out for an hour every day.  That I gonna be tough considering 2 of those days are Xmas and Xmas Eve.  Xmas Eve will be the worst, because from the time we get up until the time we fall into bed we run from one house to the next with not much break in between.  I will have to work out as soon as I get up.  I need to get focused.

Food has not been good either. My weight is up 3 pounds.  I just gotta get through this slump I am in.  After the new year it will be rounding the curve and looking towards shorts season, so I will wanna be thinner by then.  So i have got to get on the ball, and get out there and get to running again. 

I am gonna start looking for a 5K to do maybe in February.  Time to seriously train for something.

I am done Xmas shopping.  The kids are getting 3 gifts from me and 3 gifts from Santa.  The gifts from me aren’t that great.  Santa always brings the good stuff.  I love this time of year.  I hate that we prepare so much and then it is all over in 2 days.  In other countries they have a longer Xmas season and most countries do not open presents until Jan 6th…the day the Wise men brought gifts to the messiah.  I almost wish we had that tradition.  No, not us Americans.  We are always in such a rush!  Let’s shove all our joy and happiness into 2 days and be done with it!

Well, I am off to bed.  Be back tomorrow ladies…I promise!

  1. There is no reason why you can’t change traditions in your household. When we lived near family every part of the family had an assigned day. I couldn’t stand going to a million houses in 2 days. I started at my house on the 21st (winter solstice) and I normally had 4-5 days of visiting family. Then a few more at NY’s. It was lovely. In FL I only have my house and MIL’s so 2 days is all we need.

  2. I think the idea of a 5k in Feb is a good one to get you focused on something concrete & start off the new year in the right direction

    Maybe you should give yourself a day or two off for the holidays? No where is it written that your hell week needs to be done in 7 days and not 9. It’s your plan, you make the rules….

  3. Doing a 5k is a fabulous idea! It will give you something to train for and focus your exercise. There are a few good websites with training plans for 5k s, i’ve done the hal higdon plan before and it was really good! It’s at .http://www.howtobefit.com/5k-training-beginner.htm

    I’m so glad you’ve got all the X-mas stuff handled and you’re ready for the big day.

    I agree with you - it should be a celebration not a panic, chaotic, stressful time…. :)

    Sounds like you’ve got some great ideas ahead.

    Meanwhile, I think my goal is not to gain 5 pounds by NYE :)

  5. This is a really tough time for everyone. Just hang in there, and having a goal for February will def. help you refocus your efforts!
