Back from the great outdoors!
The camping trip was fun. We had a good time. We did not get to spend as much time on the lake as we would have liked. Everytime we got out there a storm would roll in amd would send us running back to the campsite. Saturday we were at the beach at about 6:30 and the clouds rolled in and it started pouring. It rained all night long. We had to cook our dinner in the rain. It sounds totally miserable, but it was fun. When we left Saturday, none of us really wanted to leave and we all wished we had stayed another day. I really miss the lake and can’t wait to go back again!
I gained a pound over the 3 days. Of course, I completely went off the diet. There is something about vacation that weakens even the strongest willpower. ![]()

However when I weighed in this morning I was only up a pound. That is great since TOM arrived on Friday as well!
Today I washed several loads of laundry, cleaned up a little. I waited until evening to do my walk/run. I’m not gonna do that again. The temperature drops in the evening, but the temperature of the road doesn’t and I could feel the heat radiating off the blacktop. I will work out in the morning from now on.
I have been doing the workouts from coolrunning.com. I was suppose to go to week 3, but I just don’t feel strong enough to go to week 3 where I will have to run for 3 minutes without stopping. Okay, let me rephrase myself…my ankles are not strong enough. They were killing me today as usual. I was getting kinda upset about my lack of progress while I was running until I remembered that the first day that I did week 2 I had to modify the workout, mid-workout from running for 1-1/2 minutes to 1 minute because of the pain. So the pain has gotten better, so that is progress. Progress, even a little progress is good. I think I will start doing some strength training. I found some exercises to strengthen my ankles on coolrunning.com. I am gonna start doing those and hope it helps. I know my ankles were weak. They say that most falls are due to weak ankles. I have had more falls in the last year then anytime in my entire life, so obviously I have weak ankles.
Food wasn’t the best today. However tomorrow will be better, as there is no snack food in the house and money is tight as always. The kids will really be complaining about the lack of junk food in the house. They will live. It is said that no child will starve who has food placed before it.
I took my multi-vitamin. I usually try to take it right before I go to bed, because it makes me super nauseous. So here I sit…super nauseous. I wonder if they make me sick if I should even take them?
Two days left before I go back to work. :( I hate the end of summer! Having summers off is great, but having to go back to work really bites!

I took a multivitamin (One-A-Day Weight Smart) and every time I took it, I got so nauseous that I would run to the bathroom to throw up. It had something in it that just didn’t sit right with my stomach. Maybe you should look at taking some individual vitamins instead of the multi?
Looks like your vacation was a blast!
I always try to workout in the morning…where I live, the mosquitoes come out at night, so I’m hot and irritated. You are doing great with your running, don’t worry about having to repeat a week. I foresee myself doing that. We won’t be able to run at all if we hurt ourselves and you’re still getting great exercise. I had no idea that cool running had ankle strengthening exercises, I will have to check it out.
About your vitamin…do you take it with something to eat? If it still makes you nauseas maybe you could try another brand?
awe, the pics are great! Looks lovely and the kids are adorable!
Way to go sweetpea on the great vacation - beautiful pics - your children are just adorable!
I think it’s a great idea to do the ankle strengthening stuff
It’s also a credit that you only gained a pound on vacation so that’s great too -
Welcome back boo…
What kind of job do you do? School job?
