C25K- last day of week 5

Exercise, Menu 4 Comments »

The 20 minute run was today and it was a doozy. I stopped at 10 minutes for a sip of water and then continued on. The last 10 minutes I was slow as a turtle, but still jogging and that’s what’s important, right? :)

Here’s week 6, day 1

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

* Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
* Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
* Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
* Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
* Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

There’s one more day with intervals and then the rest is just whole sets of running. One small problem is that my jogging stroller’s wheels are super squeaky. People can hear me coming from a mile away. It’s kind of funny, though I think I need to get some WD40. I feel delightfully tired now, but I need to do my weights.

Menu:

6:00 banana
8:00 bran flakes w/2 percent milk (we are out of skim!)
9:30 Cup of hot green tea
10:15 soy peach yogurt
11:00 baked chicken breast w/ lima beans, half of a baked sweet potatoe
2:00 small bowl of bran flakes, 1/4 banana
4:30 baked chicken breast w/ mixed veggies, half a sweet potatoe
to be continued

I ran my last day of c25k week 4. It went worst than last  time and I think I  know why…we got there too late and it was 84 degrees…also I dropped my water bottle repeatedly and ended up throwing it away, so no water and hotter than usual are not a good mix. OH and then I decided I was going to do hills the whole way, which made my legs feel like rubber. So, end result was that I didn’t do the last minute and 20 seconds of the final 5 minute run. I am still trying to decide if I should just go ahead into week 5 or do one more day of week 4.  I really think I could’ve done it if I hadn’t had such bad conditions.

I went out with a friend of mine and her baby to eat and walk around the mall. It was fun, I ended up eating a veggie burger and a couple of fries. I also wore a pretty skirt that I got from a consignment store.  I remember being so jealous of this friend because while we were both pregnant, she lost tons of weight and I gained tons. We were about the same size starting off. Of course, I know losing tons of weight is not that great during pregnancy, but I was jealous all the same. Well, she’s put on a ton more weight since I’ve seen her. She was telling me how she was going to do the Atkins diet to lose her weight, at least her version of it. It’s pretty much her eating nothing but meat and cheese…no wonder people have a skewed version of the Atkins diet. Anyhoo, here’s what the menu was today:

B: bowl of veggie soup

S: cantaloupe

L: veggie burger (ruby tuesday’s…on a wheat bun with cheese and garlic mayo), a couple of fries

S: watermelon

D: 2 thin baked pork chops, baked potatoes, a little bit more cantaloupe

Menu 8/9/07

6:30-banana

8:15-2 hard boiled eggs

11:00-tuna sub, 1 slice of 2 percent cheese…handful of wheat puffs

3:00-shredded wheat w/skim milk

5:00-3 cups of corn w/ peppers, 2 small pork chops baked in olive oil

5:30-handful of wheat puffs and a banana

That’s all folks, nothing else to eat, I have got to get my eating more under control.

Look out your window!

You’ll probably spot a flying pig, because I just ran 3 minutes spurts with relative ease! I could not believe it. Granted, I wasn’t going super fast, but I was jogging! I did 10 minute walk, running part (90 sec jog, 90 sec walk, 3 minute jog, 3 min walk) 2 times and then 10 minutes walking. I also went back to the consignment shop and got a new pair of “dri” pants and a tennis skirt, with shorts sewn in. All for about 10 bucks! And the pants were brand new! I wore them today and there was no uncomfortableness at all. (Yes I just made that word up)

Weight is nearly back to normal which means that AF is imminent, but I have lot 2 inches off my waist since I measured last (over a month ago?) Here’s the menu for today:

B: oatmeal w/cinnamon and splenda

S: watermelon

L: baked turkey breast w/ mushrooms

S: probably more watermelon or strawberries

D: subway! turkey sub and side salad

I got this really neat running outfit from a cosignment store today. It was brand new, purple and made from that “dri” material. I will take a picture of myself in it and see how horrible it looks and if it’s not too horrible, I’ll post it. Well, the only disappointment about it was that when I got it home, I found out the “shorts” were really a skirt. Now, I’ve heard of running skirts before, but I’m pretty sure there’s supposed to be underwear or shorts under them. So this is a little upsetting, but I will see what works out. I can’t return it unfortunately. I think I might go back tomorrow and see what else they have, it was a pretty good selection. I just wasn’t paying as much attention as I should’ve. Also I was with my best friend and I hate for her to see what my size is…she is a size 4 or 6…Needless to say. I feel like a cow next to her.

Menu today:

B: 2 pieces of whole wheat toast, plum

S: plum, cantaloupe

L: baked tilapia, green beans and mushrooms

S: Turtle (I was at the mall and it called to me)

D: turkey sub, small pkg of baked lays, diet coke
