Holiday!
September 19th, 2008
Well, I’m off on holiday tomorrow and won’t be back until monday 29th September. And I can’t WAIT after the week I’ve had. What with having a cold, the bad news I had on Tuesday, dealing with a the re-occurance of my sprained ankle injury ( I need Physio) and an infection in one of my toes post-sponsored walk- well, ive had enough. I need a break. So for the next week i’m not worrying about food and exercise. I’m taking the opportunity to rest my ankle, refresh my head and start fresh on the Monday, including starting C25km again from week 1.
So that’s it.. I’m on holdidaaaaay!!!! yay!
Shakin’ off the lazy bug!
September 10th, 2008
Managed to get down the gym today but I really had to force myself. Once the lazy bug bites it’s hard to shake it off again! Towards the end of the day I had a little mantra going in my head ‘I will go to the gym today, I will go to the gym today’ and had visualised myself in the gym, and it was still touch and go! Anyway it was my first session of the C25km. See my C25km page for progress.
The next challenge..
September 9th, 2008
So the walk is over… now I need a new challenge. I am in serious danger of slipping back to my old ways. Y’see I haven’t actually been to the gym since a week on Friday (that was August still!!) and ok I have been swimming and have done some toning work and the 14 mile walk (can’t forget that!!) but I haven’t actually done any serious cardio.
So the next challenge will be the couch to 5km 9 week challenge (as inspired by Katy!!) So tomorrow I will go down the gym and do the first session of the C25km. I will post my progress for this in a seperate page on my blog.
Hmmm, guess i’m gonna have to blog my food diary again as well. Where oh where has my will power gone?!
I did it!!!
September 8th, 2008
Well, I did it! I walked about 14 miles for the British Heart Foundation and raised £185 (about $370) If I said that I wasn’t hurting today I would be lying…but it was worth it! And I got a medal for doing it!
Picture1. Me at the start
Picture 2. The first distance marker- how far?!! I wasn’t going all the way to Liverpool! There were mile markers most of the way along the canal and it was amazing how long a mile started to feel like..
Pictures 3, 4 and 5. Some of the nice scenery along the way
Picture 6. The 13 mile marker- that’s exactly 13miles from the first marker in picture 1. And accordng to the walk info it should have finished here, but it didn’t! It was about another mile to the last checkpoint! How cheeky-sneaking in an extra mile!
Picture 7. Ant and I afterwards.
Friday night again…
September 5th, 2008
Well, it’s not been a great week as far as food and exercise went. I really should have done more cardio down the gym, and definitely shouldn’t have had pizza on thursday!!
Only 2 days until my sponsored walk, and i’ve only got £10 to go to hit my £150 ($300-ish) target! I wonder who i can badger for money now…. 20km!! That’s the most I’ve walked ever. In one go at least! lol
Weigh day tomorrow, i hope to have lost a little.

Good day- bad day
August 31st, 2008
Good day because….
Nice day out at the seaside
Had fish and chips, didn’t eat most of the batter, left half the chips. So, not too bad.
Didn’t have ice-cream
Nice walk on the beach
Walked up some killer steps from the beach back to town to go home.
Bad day beacuse…
Also had a hot dog with fried onions
Have had several handfuls of Haribo sweets
Didn’t go to the gym or swimming
I am currently drinking a large glass of red wine… ![]()
Hmmm, better make that 3 glasses and a muffin.
So, starting tomorrow I will start another food diary and will also keep an online exercise diary. I still use the exercise log i bought but perhaps if i ‘go public’ for a week or two it will inspire me to put it more into it again. I have 3 weeks until i go away and i would really like to be down to 10st (140Ibs) by then.
Why i don’t like today..
August 26th, 2008
I spent the whole night awake because i felt so ill after all that food yesterday. I had to call in sick to work as i had had absolutely no sleep because of the nausea, stomach cramps, bloatedness, etc etc. So i spent all morning sleeping and managed to fit in a little food. Also, my legs are killing me from the ‘cardio-yoga’ I did yesterday.
I appear to have lost my usual yoga dvd (admittedly i haven’t seen it in about 2 years!!) but i did find one my othe dvd’s had a 30 minute ‘cardio-yoga’section so i thought i’d give that a whirl, and it was actually quite hard. My legs especially feel so…
Anyway, I don’t like today because i am tired, feel nauseous, and ache in a variety of interesting place from yoga and being sick last night. Great.
THE GYM IS CLOSED!!
August 25th, 2008
How am i supposed to exercise if the gym is closed?! How inconsiderate…. just ‘cos it’s a bank holiday! I’m gonna have to go for a walk or something!! Except the weather is a bit, well, English…typical bank hloiday weather. I suppose i could dig out a yoga dvd…hmmmm. i shall ponder on this dilemma. At least the gym re-opens tomorrow!
