My C25km journey.

September 9th, 2008

Week 1
Workout 1. Wednesday 10/9/08
Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes

Really enjoyed the first session. Listened to a podcast I found on Itunes which has a guy telling you when to run and when to walk and saying generally encouraging things with some good music. And it was free. You can get it on Itunes under ‘Podcasts for Running’ or on MP3 from the guy’s website http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/page4/page4.html
I found it so much easier than normal ‘cos I didn’t have to clock watch and I could concentrate on breathing as the guy was telling me when to run and walk. As a result I managed to last longer and go further on the treadmill than before. So a very good start. :)

Workout 2 Friday 12/09/08

Brisk five-minute warmup walk. Then alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes
Went well today. A bit apprehensive about upping the running next week but still willing to give it a go… My ankle is hurting today. Even though I used strapping on it to give it a bit more support. There is a possibility I may need to go to a running shop and get sorted for running shoes set up for how I run and giving more support to my ankle but I just don’t have that kind of money right now *sigh*

Workout 3 Sunday 14/9/08
