No slipping allowed!!!

So it was a good and bad day. Had some difficulties in the morning that threw me off for the day and I was dreading having to go to the dentist feeling that way - but crap happens (LOL or not). Eating for most of the day wasn’t bad — went over to our Starbucks for my bi-weekly mocha treat and they had the plain rice krispie squares — 450 calories of fun LOL. But I wasn’t hungry for the rest of the day - I ate a late lunch but could only eat part of it. Of course I head to the dentist about 3 and my tummy is letting my know its not happy with lack of food. Nothing I can do I was triply frozen for crown prep - sat there for 2 hours and knew the evening wasn’t going to be good. I was hungry but unable to eat a thing. So I got my sweetie to get me my first in a couple of years — I got a MacDonalds milkshake!!! It was all I had for dinner - all I could manage. As it turns out my freezing was still going strong until after 8 — blech!!!!! So obviously not a great calorie day but I will blame it on the freezing.

Speaking of dentists I read the neatest analogy yesterday about falling off the eating wagon. It went something like this — if you get up one day and forget to brush your teeth - -would you berate yourself - call yourself stupid and never brush your teeth again because you obviously just can’t manage something so important. The article said weight loss is the same - just because you forget or don’t do it right for one day — there is no reason to believe you can’t do it right the next day. I will remember the brushing teeth analogy for a long time. It makes sense to me - just because I mess up one day doesn’t mean I am incapable. I am, I will, I CAN!!!!

  1. I like that analogy. That was pretty cool.

  2. Atta girl!!! :) That’s the attitude…you fall and you get up, you fall and you get up again…We have to remember that. Man! I haven’t had a real thick milkshake in ages. Nice analogy :)

Oh have you tried a smaller rice krispie packs. I get a box full of them from BJs and I’m sure Costco or Sams probably has it too. Each bar is like 90 calories. I use them as a snack sometimes. Maybe pack one in your purse for easy access in times of crunch :)

  3. Hah! Excellent! And timely, too, as I’ve definitely been “slipping” a bit while DS has been visiting. I won’t go into the gory details, but maybe saying “Bertucci’s last night” will give you a clue. Omigawd, do they make good food or what? Anyway, the analogy is perfect. Thanks - and a big hug,
    Z

  4. That dentist analogy is EXCELLENT, I’m going to remember that one!

  5. Great analogy. Hope your dentist experience was as good!

    Cheers
