Back from Maui
So no Hawaiian Millionare wanted to adopt us so back we came to the land of ice and snow — hold on I thought we lived in Vancouver one of the mildest climates in Canada. Came back with a fabulous case of bronchitis (started in the airport on the way home), so for a couple of weeks I could have cared less about eating right - I only wanted carbs. And exercise was something only other people could do. Heck I couldn’t walk up the stairs without a huge coughing fit. Its now three weeks later and with the help of an inhaler I am beginning to feel human. Of course just as I get better we are hit with the news that my mom’s cancer is back with a vengance and starting next week she will be doing aggressive chemotherapy treatment. She has battled this cancer for close to 10 years and has always reacted well to the oral chemo - so we are hoping these new nasty tumours are as treatable with the aggressive chemo. Its too bad because she is feeling good right now and once treatment starts that will all end — crap!!! Oh well just another blip (I hope). I have worked it out with my employers that I can take a day off a week to be with her — she has agreed to accept in home care if neccessary. Lets hope it doesn’t become a neccessity.
So with all that going on its been a struggle in 2008 to get back on track. I only have one goal for this year and that is to be able to shop in a normal size store for my wedding dress. I am going to do my best to get to the classes at work starting next week — boot up my little calorie counter and get this party started AGAIN!!!
See you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
