So i weighed in today at 76.6kg. Which comes to 168.4 pounds or something. Which meant that i had achieved my second goal, being below 170 pounds. I was absolutely stoked, i didnt think i would reach my goal for another 2 weeks. I always aim to lose 400g a week, knowing that i can usually pretty easily lose 500g, so i dont get disappointed. So there was no way i would predict a loss of 1.4kg! It was an awesome surprise.
I went shopping to get a reward. I hadnt decided before hand what my reward would be, because i figured i still had weeks and weeks to decide. I got a new jacket (its cute, very casual lounge wear sort of thing with three quarter sleeves and a hood) and a book called The Lunchbox Bible. I was just flicking through the pages and it had some really good, healthy looking lunchbox ideas with nice photos and simple recipes. Im not a magnificent cook by any means. Calling me a cook is a bit extravagent even. So the idea of being able to make a chicken caeser salad wrap that is actually edible and healthy is very exciting. So is the idea of being able to have something other than plain pasta and cheese for lunch, or an egg sandwhich, or rice. Not that i dont love those things, but you can only rotate them so many times before you get bored.
So now i’m super excited about trying the recipes and the jacket out
Next goal isnt too far off- 75kg. That will mean having lost 10kg total (22 pounds?) and be half way to my “first” ultimate goal (i set my first ultimate goal just on the basis of what i thought was good, 65kg, so thats my first goal. When i get there i will decide whether i want to get down to 55kg, which would be a healthy weight for my body frame, which is apparently small)
I better start planning my rewards more timely!

Congratulations on the loss! I have to admit though, I’m pretty confused over grams and kilograms. I’ve only heard those weights used in reference to cocaine in my part of the world.
The jacket sounds great, just my kind of thing. I love hooded jackets, can’t wait until I gets cooler I can wear mine. The book sounds wonderful as well. If only I still cooked. I tend to ‘construct’ my meals nowadays
I’ll have to check it out, if it’s a construction type cookbook it’d be just my kind of thing.

ya i love it too ^_^ At first i was like “its ok…” now i really love it, its so cute. I know how you feel about “constructing”
but the book is kinda like that, it tells you what bits you need and you just stick them together
Although i have to be careful, some things i have found have a crazy number of calories in them, even though they seem pretty healthy fat wise. But you might be able to spot that more easily than i can, im still surprised how many calories flour based things are!

oh! And the grams and kg- i kinda multiply by 2 and then add a bit to get pounds, but:
500g=1.1 pounds
1.4kg=3.1 pounds
75kg=165 pounds
65kg=143 pounds
55kg=121 pounds
Hope that helps
I laughed about the cocaine. I suppose if you could measure your cocaine in pounds you’d have a heck of a lot of cocaine!

Ghosty- I thought of you today at the bookstore and immediately clomped my way to the cooking section. Alas, they didn’t carry it. I’ll try again another trip. It does sound like the perfect ‘constructing’ book for me. I’m a typical daughter of a chef - I generally hate cooking as a result of growing up in restaurants and when I do cook it’s a great and messy production.
Thanks for the grams/kg explanation. Now I can know what you’re talking about better! I’m going to start recording my loss in grams only. That sounds so much better.

oh no! I think they probably have it on Amazon if you’re really super keen
but i am usually sceptical about buying books from the internet, i like to flick through them first
I dunno why i cant cook, just dont enjoy it, too impatient to get to the final product lol! Counting weight loss in grams helps me,i dont know why, maybe i just find it easier to imagine what 500g is because ive grown up with the system

this book sounds great! I actually LOVE cooking and love good food (hey, I am not in this state only because of overeating and not moving, I simply LOVE good food, good wine, good beer…) and I love to have new, fresh ideas for lunch. I probably won’t find it at the bookstore where I am (limited English-language books), but if you really recommend it, I will have a look online.
By the way, saw your other entry “Hier kommt die sonne” and just wanted to say … LOVE Rammstein. Really one of my all-time favourites!
Enjoy your new jacket!

I do recommend it, its very easy, just be careful if you are counting calories to figure out how many are in each thing before you make them (i am always really surprised at how many little things have so many calories!).
I love rammstein tooooooo. Couldnt get through the day without them
Thanks!

I’m a weight watcher so I would just convert the ingredients (and adjust if necessary) to points.
thanks so much for this great tip!
