the evolution of me

November 11th, 2008

I’ve lost 25 pounds steadily since October 2006.  Here’s a little weight-loss journey, via Halloween pics.  Enjoy!

2006 Halloween (Wham!)

2007 Halloween (Bob Ross & the Happy Tree)

2008 Halloween (Pacman and Ms Pacman)

2008 Halloween, Part 2 (Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent from KISS, with nephew Gene Simmons)

1 day down, 89 to go

November 11th, 2008

i was able to stay at 1500 calories yesterday.  this is a huge accomplishment for me.  i’m the ultimate grazer.  i’ve been working out like crazy.  my body is changing a bit, but the weight ain’t budging.  and if i’m going to give myself any chance of getting rid of this linebacker torso, i’ve got to really commit to cutting calories.

so here’s a virtual beer toast to 1 DAY DOWN!

i averaged my calories over the past month, and it comes out to approx 2000/day.  i don’t think i believe that number.  i didn’t count weekend calories at all; i have a feeling it is more like 21 or 2200 calories.  so i figure, if i at least attempt to stay at or below 1500 calories, on the weekdays even, that’s a pound right there.  hopefully all this research won’t jinx it.  what can i say, work is slow today.  happy blogging, chickies.

wtf have i been doing for six months?  floating in this little denial bubble apparently.

for the first time since march, i will record a loss dammit.  i will eat OP all week.

’nuff said.  happy blogging, chickies.

update: it’s 9p, and i’m at 1440 calories.  i worked out for 90+ mins today, too.  i’ve settled in with a nice cup of hot tea.  it feels good to be in control.  nighty-night, chickadees.

… that’s how my workout went today.  i was in a hurry so that i could meet hubby for lunch.  so i skipped one run and skipped 1/2 my warm-up, but i still finished out strong.  after lunch, i headed to the mall for a small bit of retail therapy.  i found a killer deal on a grayish-denimish pencil skirt.  when i zipped that bad boy up, my ass looked fine.  and i mean fine, as in FIIIINE.  let’s see if i can keep floating on this cloud for the remainder of the day…

AWESOMENESS

November 3rd, 2008

for those of you that visit here often, you may remember my rants about how iTunes (or any mp3 provider) should include TEMPO as an option in their mp3 searches.  i don’t know about you, but i LOVE to run to a beat.

so i stumbled across a couple BPM (Beats Per Minute) databases today and thought i would share.  with help from these sites, i was able to add four new songs to my w25k routine today.  the routine kicked my ass, but the fact that i could run-to-the-beat on all my run intervals was totally cool.

the first listing has accumulated about 40K songs.  neither are perfect or complete, but hey, i’ll take what i can get!

that was the final run song of my w25k routine this afternoon.  i was huffin’ and puffin’ and poundin’ that treadmill, but lenny’s words helped me to finish strong.

oh hot damn, this is my jam…
