john secada can scream

August 21st, 2008

last night, in the middle of our beer & wingfest, we heard a horrible screaming/hissing sound outside the bedroom door.  the sound was so intense and ear-piercing, we could hear it all the way into the living room, even over the sound of the horrible movie we were watching.  hubby and i ripped open the door, and there was small fry, torturing a poor, defenseless cicada.  damn those things can scream.  bad small fry!  so we saved the bug.  but not before torturing it a little more with flash photography.

update: patty, glad to see someone’s on small fry’s side LOL.  dining room table?  rock on.  that’s my kind of RV.  pbean, don’t worry.  i didn’t touch the thing.  that’s my hubby’s hands in the pics.  thanks for the ideas.  on monday, i’ll sift back through my blogs and see exactly what i was doing correctly a couple months ago.  tiny2b, hmm… sounds interesting.  will check it out.

I’m sorry, I’m on Small Fry’s side. I hate those things! They’re always leaving nasty-ass skeletons on my flowers and trees and my lawn looks like someone was drilling for oil! Holes every few inches! Go Small Fry!!!

Gross. I hate bugs. You’re too kind, saving the bug. I’m issuing personal invitations… you need to join up for the Lazy Man Triathalon. See my blog for deets!

Oh, I almost forgot…you said Hubby is interested in an RV. We’ve had one for about ten years. There are good points and bad points. Good is that it’s so comfortable on long trips and you never have to lug a bunch of suitcases into a hotel. Also, I know exactly who’s been sleeping in MY bed, bathing in MY tub, and having sex on my dining room table. Some of those hotels…

Bad points…They use a lot of gas. Ours gets about 8 miles to the gallon. They can also be a real pain if you just want to run up the road to the store or something after you’ve stopped for the day. It means unhooking everything and then coming back and hooking everything up again.

You are one brave chica holding those things :) I don’t like bugs in any form or shape.

As for your slump, I suggest go back several months or maybe a year if you have the records of what you did (food and exercise wise) when the weight was going down for a bit. I’m sure you’ll see some pattern. And sometimes there’s none. I know I’ve been at a stage where I’ll be same weight for 2-3 weeks and I start feeling depressed cuz I want it to go down so bad. At times it will automatically start going down again but at times it does require some major shaking.

I have read maybe shocking/confusing the metabolism is the key. I think whatever works for you is best imo. Everyone is different. Maybe change what you’re eating in the sense for example, 1 week keep your breakfast large, lunch very light, maybe dinner medium size…or whatever way you can keep the guessing game…not the same amount every day same time…see if that will make a difference? Also I see you’re going to the gym…well initially you will gain weight cuz of muscles but the weight will go down eventually.
And if nothing else…then here’s a virtual kick in the rear for you :D Don’t let your effort go to waste. You know you can do it and beat your sister!!
    Have a great weekend :D
