i’m back

August 11th, 2008

hey guys.  thanks for the concerned posts.  friday was a stressful day.  first the painting fiasco, then the tree removal guys came over to remove a gigantic tree in our front yard.  even the small limbs shook the ground and the house when they fell to the ground.  i was terrified.  luckily hubby arrived home around 4p with a case of miller high life.

the painting issue is not over but we settled it amicably.  we told the painter not to come back, we would give him $100 for the trim he painted, less the cost to sand and refinish the deck.  it is going to need light sanding in spots, a good scrub, and a coat of stain.  argh.  i was able to return all the paint to lowes, and i exchanged it for white.  so we’re doing white on white, but at least i know that can’t be messed up.  and i left a message for another painting crew, this time one i know is good, so i won’t chance it.

saturday we were in asheville all day.  hubby had a gig.  it went well, we spent the night, hung out in asheville yesterday, then came home to a giant tree trunk in our driveway.  it is a huge oak tree.  i think someone could make thousands off the wood.  we’re going to see if someone will pay us to remove the trunk.  any ideas?

i haven’t worked out since thursday.  i’ve been eating ok though.  friday, i was so stressed all day, i don’t know if i ate much of anything.  i did have a couple of beers though.  saturday, i had a few beers, a kfc snacker, and a nachos bell grande from taco bell.  not the best choices, but still probably kept it under 1500 calories all day.  yesterday i had two slices of pizza, a lemonade, a sprite, some pretzels, and some icecream.  the pizza was fabulous.  mellow mushroom’s hawaiian with pineapple, ham, and cheese.  to die for.  i was proud of myself after i was full from only one piece.  i ate another on the drive home, and that was the bulk of my day’s food.  probably another 1500 calorie day.  all-in-all, a pretty good weekend.

the scale teetered between 182.5 and 184 this morning.  i was thrilled to see it even thinking about 182.5 since that’s only .5 lbs more than today’s goal weight.  the final weight i got was 184 so i logged it.  i’m holding some water, so maybe i will see that number in a couple of days.  trying not to worry about it.  the good news is i felt lean this weekend in asheville, and it felt good for a change.  go me!

today i’m leaving at 2p for atlanta.  my colleague and i are training a new client through thursday.  i will be working out every day (including tonight at the hotel), eating well, and will check in every night from my room.

have a great week, everyone!

update: well, i’m here at the hotel in GA.  i did my turbo jam cardio party remix before i left.  it left me feeling lean for the trip here.  when we arrived, without hesitation, i changed into my workout clothes and hit the small workout room for 30 minutes: 10 on the crappy eliptical, where i hardly broke a sweat, and 20 on the treadmill where i alternated walk/run intervals.  we ate at fatz cafe on the way down.  i had the shrimp and veggie harpoons.  yum.  grilled shrimp (approx 12) with a spicy rub, and skewers of sliced veggies, over a bed of long grain rice.  it was quite good.  after my hotel workout, my colleague and i hit the hotel bar, where i had two glasses of wine, a chicken finger, and a handful of fries.  overall, i had a pretty good day.  the 6-hour trip sucked, but i will only be here for a couple more days, then i can go home to hubby and the animals.  :)  now it’s off to bed.  will check in tomorrow night.  have a happy tuesday.

Doh! I hadn’t even put my taquito binge and my earlier craving for taco bell together. But I did have the conscious thought as I was eating the taquito… why am I eating this? I don’t need this! Again, THANKS. hee hee

hey there! thanks for asking about my run! it went really well, and i actually ran 29.5 minutes, instead of just 28. after 10 minutes, the run got really hard, but I knew i couldnt stop. the thing is, even when I reach 30 min, i wont be anywhere near 3 miles, so im really going to have to pick up my speed slowly but surely once i reach 30 minutes successfully!

way to make it to the gym at the hotel! that’s always a challenge for me!
have a good time in atlanta!
