So domestic.

Posted by: getupnow In: General

I am feeling so domestic and all family-ish this weekend. I really hope that this little break leaves me good and motivated for my run on Monday morning. Anyway, I made banana pancakes with a banana nut topping this morning for the fam.  Then we went out and bought a few things so that I can start on the kids’ halloween costumes. Having four kids, I love to have them all dress up in the same theme. So one year they were the big bad wolf and the three little pigs. One year they were the cast of scooby doo (shaggy, scooby, velma, and daphne). Last year, they were the peanut butter and jelly sandwich (two were bread, one peanut butter and one jelly). The three youngest are all the same size right now because my 7 year old is the size of a 5 year old. So being the same size and having a tall lanky sister, I thought it would be cute if they would be Oompa Loompas and the oldest will be Willy Wonka. So I went all tiny2b and got out my sewing machine and got to work on the Willy Wonka costume. Then I ordered some green wigs and stuff for the Oompa Loompas. So it has been a nice relaxing weekend. If I was in the middle of a good book and it would have rained more today, it would have been just about perfect.

The belly fat thing…what I found online was this “When lying down, menopot fat will fall to the side while visceral fat will stay raised”. Menopot fat is apparently the “pinch an inch” fat that is in front of the abdominal muscles. The visceral stuff is what they say is bad for heart health.

How ridiculously CUTE! I like to do the same thing since I have 3 boys, but last year the oldest went AWOL on me. grrrrrrr This year we are all dressing up together… the boys and the hubby as the ninja turtles and I’m gonna be April O’Neill since I sadly am her ginger twin. hahaha

Hope you have a nice, relaxing rest of the weekend :)

“Four bzillion twenty two million three hundred fifty five thousand nine hundred and ninety two”.
I ate those calories for ya, kiddo…thank me anytime!

getupnow!!! Oh you you you! How do you do it? Hmmm? Just finished catching up on ya and still grinning over your “Staying Alive ” lyrics. Now I want to memorize them and belt ‘em out when my runs get tough. :)

You mentioned winter running and breathing and I just wanted to say that I prefer running in the winter. The cold air is refreshing and feels so good breathing it in.Feels soothing to the leg muscles, too. Mmmmm can’t wait. My first winter run I overdressed, generating so much heat as I do, and left a trail of coat, scarf and mitts, etc. draped over peoples shrubbery and garbage boxes along the way. Good it’s a small community here or who knows what they’d think! LOLOL.

I hate my belly fat. It’s menopot, I guess, and I’m afraid it’s that jiggly kind that will never leave me. Crap! Do I need to save up for a tummy tuck now? Cripes I’ve worked my butt off saving for a vehicle and now a possible belly fat crisis? Help!

Your kids are sweet! A few years ago I began dressing up as “Crazy Witch” to dish out treats and now the kids are really getting into it. They tell their parents they want to see the Crazy Witch. I greet them in the yard, cackle and screech at them, dance and swoop around, shell out the goodies and chase them out the driveway. What a lot of screeching kids that is! I love it!!!

It’s good to be back. Keep up the strength training. Gotta be into the big girl weights for when Biggest Loser starts up!

OMG!

Most. Adorable. Children. And. Costumes. Ever!

I’d be stuck at costume ideas forever if I had kids…I’m feeling a little anxiety right now just thinking about it…& then I’d never be able to execute any decent idea I did manage to come up with! What is this sewing machine of which you speak? Your children are so lucky to have such a clever mom!

Thanks for the info on the belly fat…I haven’t checked yet, but I think I have a lethal combination of both kinds. UGH!

Your kids are so completely gorgeous that I could gobble them up. Literally. How many carbs are in a cute kid? Just asking.

And, please, do NOT even compare yourself to me in the sewing arena. I suck and you are awesome and I bow down at your domestic feet.
