Cheese Louise

Posted by: getupnow In: General

This is what I just did. School starts tomorrow and therefore it is time to figure out snacks for the kids. So in an effort to minimize the ingredients in their food, I bought the big hunk of cheese at Sam’s and cut it up in lieu of those little packaged cheese and crackers thingies that have numerous unpronouncable words in the ingredient list. I am trying this year. Trying. Right now, we have no gummy fruit hickiemajiggers of any kind. We have no nutritious-named but highly processed fruit bars. We have no pre-packaged anythings. We’ll see if I can keep it up. I just wish that my cholesterol would allow ME to take park in this glorious mountain of cheese.

Breakfast and lunch were normal. Dinner was vegetable sandwiches and refried beans. I am really liking the refried beans and the brand I get is 99% fat free, but I still need to start making them myself so that I can decrease the sodium. I have done zero exercise today. Being sunday, I didn’t have time to go run this morning. Yesterday was weights, but I think I can do that again today. Nothin’s hurtin’. Apparently I didn’t work hard enough. No surprise there. I knew I didn’t do as many sets as I should have.

Good for you for doing healthy snacks. I always let my lil ones talk me into processed junk and I let them cause the mornings are WAY too strained as it is (read: I am lazy!). You have inspired me to do better next week, so thanks :-)

thanks so much for commenting on my blog..I look forward to hearing from you!!! After everytime I run I begin to feel a little better about my legs and I know they are slowly getting stronger!
Good job with the healthy snacks…I see kids come into daycare and some of the parents let them bring in ‘healthy’ snacks..which aren’t healthy at all…it drives me WILD! lol

Cheese. Yum.

You are getting the GOOD MOM pat on the back for working on healthy snacks. My daughter is the queen of Lunchables. So sad. And the saddest thing, she loves them sooooo much.

I luvz cheezez by jeezez!

every now and again ya mention salt. I gotta overhaul my chow and get back to basics again. I wonder why this past month has been so sucky for me. I planned super healthy and got super sloppy. You mention salt and I automatically think of Biggest Loser and the look on Jillian’s face when she discovered one of her guys was marinating in soya sauce. What a salt enlightening moment that was!

By the way, you and hubby should try out for Amazing Race again. You’re so healthy now. No problem to kick those other teams azzes!

  • tiny2b: Cool chart. You asked how I can do it, the running in the cold weather. Um, when I say it's "cold," so far that has been 45 at the worst. The 20s?
