Titles are over-rated (in other words, I can’t think of one)

The blackberry plan worked yesterday. And they weren’t even like a favorite fruit like, say, a mango would be, but they were fresh and real food. No desire for the ice cream cake at all.  The cake just did not appeal to me. The more fresh foods I eat, the more the processed foods slip down on the list as far as what I tend to want. Some things will never drop off of the list, but still it is progress.

My hubby complimented me today, out of the blue. He said that I looked nice and that he is proud of me. It made me feel good, but it also made me reflect on the way I was before. When I think of what all I was letting food do to me, I want to go back in time and kick my own ass for being so stupid.

My mom’s korean friend was supposed to be giving me a gallon of kimchee. Well, she never did bring it while I was up there so I missed out.  :-(  So I had kimchee on the brain so much that I had to buy a pint of it. It is just fermented cabbage with spices, so it is low cal. I had some for lunch today and it seemed like it made me feel more full. Maybe because it is a little spicy. Not sure. Regardless, it is a healthy food. So I think this will be my next kitchen experiment. I will be attempting to find a good kimchee recipe. Too bad it takes a couple of weeks before I can eat it. I guess I will have to buy some more until then.

Off to the store for the makings of kimchee!

Edited to add that I went to the store and they only had organic napa cabbage at you-gotta-be-kidding-me dollars per pound. But I bought it anyway…to the tune of $14 then found non-organic somewhere else at 98 cents a pound.

  • tiny2b: Cool chart. You asked how I can do it, the running in the cold weather. Um, when I say it's "cold," so far that has been 45 at the worst. The 20s?
