(She’s) leavin’ on a jetplane.

The exchange student is on her way back to the homeland. We still have some issues to sort of work through. She will be returning in August to attend a private school here. This year has not been good for us. Just plain awkward. We have never felt like she really liked us that much, so it is hard to imagine keeping in contact. But I think that her perception of this past year has been different from ours, so I hate to come right out and say “stay away from us”.

So anyway, we went to pizza hut as planned. I had been careful all day to accomodate the calories and fat in the pizza. I ended up getting the veggie grill or whatever. I was pleased with that decision. And I had no breadsticks or cinnamon sticks. So I actually ended up logging it in fitday to find that I am low on calories for the day. I think I will just save those calories for tomorrow since we are going on a picnic and my lunch may go over my normal lunch calories a bit. But I have planned my meal. The family will be having hot dogs. I am not happy with my healthy options for hot dogs. It is not worth it. So I am taking a thin piece of chicken to grill with some jerk spices and a slice of pineapple and probably some banana peppers. In lieu of the s’mores that everyone else will be having, I am taking some strawberries with sliced banana.

Exercise tomorrow will probably be a hike. We are heading out to our favorite place where there is a great creek for the kids to play in. The temperature has felt like summer for weeks. It is nice that finally our life is starting to slow down enough to feel like summer if only for a week.

I have about 4.5 pounds to go to get to 160 by the time my inlaws get here in two weeks. To quote Nemo….just keep swimming, just keep swimming. I am not actually swimming, but you know.

With the stress of the exchange student being gone, you may find it easier to stay on track.

JEALOUS — I want to come to your picnic!! That sounds like fun! I want to go play in a creek!! We’ll be sitting by the pool all weekend.

Glad your outing to pizza hut went even better than you expected. How was that veggie grill pizza? I’ve seen it and wanted it but haven’t gotten it.

strawberries with banana sounds like a lovely & healthy treat!

Congrats on the pizza success & on the weight loss so far. I fear I’m too far from the goal to make the challenge this month, but I’m going to see what I can accomplish with the time remaining!

Sounds like you are doing REALLY well - success w planning, fave foods, ridding yourself of stressors, etc.

On the C25K program I sometimes repeated a week when my body just didn’t seem to “get it” and be ready for the next level. I never regretted it. Don’t forget, it’s the tortise that won the race…

Love the way you’re planning your picnic with chicken and fruit instead of hot dogs (edible food-like substances) and s’mores, which I don’t even know what that is, but bet it doesn’t grow on a tree!

Sounds like your exchange student wasn’t so much fun. There are some that you have to just take off the hook and throw back into the lake.
