Transition Day
Today’s my first full “back home” day….. Plan is to be nice to myself, try to keep the relaxed center of last week inside me and nurture it so it’s there in the coming week/s to keep me from being a stress case.
I stretched before taking care of the dogs this morning, and that’s a vacation habit I’d like to keep. It’s meditative, too….. I’d like to remember some of the meditation practices mentioned in Eat, Pray, Love: the four brothers; our bodies as earth, sky, water, fire, wind.
Later: It’s late afternoon now, and the sun has started to disappear, and with it my good spirits. I am sort of dreading the return to regular life - work and all the other daily and unexpected demands of living. Deep breaths. Maybe this would be a good time to give myself those ‘five minutes’ to set some goals for this week. It’s a week that will include a date w/the BF to the opera (Aida) and a 3K walk with the team this weekend, plus a trip out to the middle of the state to visit family on Sunday. So good things to look forward to. And truly I’m happy to be home in many ways, to go about the routines of life. Transitions can be hard for me, though.
