The weekend

September 10th, 2008 by fit4my20

I was out of town for 3 days at my in-laws.  I ate ok except for my sil’s baby shower.  It was at a tea house, so there was lots of yummy  stuff to eat.  I ate better yesterday, but haven’t exercised since Friday.  I am going to try to make it to Zumba today, although I am not feeling to hot.  Maybe exercise will make me feel better.

salt water taffy

September 3rd, 2008 by fit4my20

Breakfast: Fiber 1 bar, juice, oatmeal w/almonds.  Snack:banana pancake. Lunch:leftover rice pasta w/ground turkey & spaghetti sauce.

Not to bad up until I went to the train museum and had to stop at the candy store afterwards.  I promised my son he could get a few gummy worms if he was on his best behavior.  I REALLY thought we would not be going to the candy store since we were at the museum at nap time.  He surprised me!  So,I celebrated with him by having  2 salt water taffys and 4 caramels.

Dinner: bbq salmon, risotto, salad

Definately not enough fruits and veggies today!

Exercise: 45 minutes ZUMBA (YEAH Stacy for going!  Good job getting your freak on!)15 minutes ab attack

a little bit better today

September 2nd, 2008 by fit4my20

I threw away the leftover cake I had baked as soon as I woke up this morning!  I knew I couldn’t handle it calling my name from the pantry all day!!  I did eat better today, but not as well as I would like.  My son said he wanted to go to the gym right at nap time, so I figured I would give it a shot.  I HATE CARDIO MACHINES!! THEY ARE SOOOO BORING!!!  Especially when I don’t have my ipod (which I forgot today).  So, I lasted minutes on the bike and then left.  I used nap time as an excuse though!!!

Food intake today:  Fiber 1 bar, oatmeal w/almonds and rice milk, 1 large apple, banana pancake (used banana instead of eggs and safflower oil), handful of Tings (corn puff type things), bowl of Special K, Rice pasta w/spaghetti sauce and zuchinni, banana/blueberry apple sauce pancake.

***HMMMMM…I think I love carbs. Putting it in writing makes it seem even worse than I thought.

****My excuse for the pancakes……my daughter and myself cannot have dairy (including eggs), or soy, so I am trying out new homemade pancake recipes for us.  I also realized today that neither of us can eat most breads, which will be good for my carb addiction. So, I found some whole wheat bread recipes that don’t have eggs or milk and I will try one of those recipes soon.

***anyone know where I can sign up for CAA??  Carb addicts anonymous???

first day failure

September 1st, 2008 by fit4my20

I started the day eating some weight control oatmeal and some juice.  I then hit the gym for 55 minutes of my favorite class, Zumba.  After the gym I got home and had  a granola bar to hold me over for lunch.  I was doing great through my lunch of brown rice, chicken, and some pears.

I took a crazy trip grocery shopping (Never go to Super Wal-Mart on the 1st of the month and a holiday…NIGHTMARE).  I got home and everyone was napping, then my road to failure started!!!  2 bowls of Special K Chocolatey Delight along with some cake batter (I’m getting a jump start on my daughter’s bday cake).  Then I rounded out my food failure with 2 pieces of raisin toast!

I did get back to the road of success at dinner.  1/2 a turkey burger patty with grilled onions (soooooooooooo sad I couldn’t have cheddar cheese on it!), one bite of garlic bread, and a salad.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!

**I would love some advice on how to get my mouth wired shut when I am in the presence of cake batter or cookie dough………….any thoughts on that???

GOALS!

August 28th, 2008 by fit4my20

Writing goals while both kids scream themselves to sleep for a nap!  HMMM, I hope I can think straight!  Add in that I am also munching on pita chips and hummus!  YUMMY!

1)  Commit to 3 days of cardio classes at gym.  Two days of strength training plus 45 minutes on treadmill or bike.

2)  Start eating more fruits and veggies and cut down on anything that comes in a box!  Along with this, plan meals in advance.

3)  Cut back on my Starbuck’s habit.  This will save calories and $$$$$$$$$$$!  Hopefully this will be easy since I can’t have dairy or soy now anyways!!

Goals

August 28th, 2008 by fit4my20

I am pushing 40 and know that getting fit at this age is getting harder by the day.  I am not worried about what size clothes I wear, how lumpy my thighs are, or if I can still fit in my wedding dress.  My concern is being fit and healthy.  Of course I want to look great in my clothes, but I would rather FEEL great.  I also want to make sure that I don’t pass on my obsession with weight loss to my daughter (especially since I have failed so many times).  I want to be able to keep up with both my kids as they grow and never have to worry about asking them to slow down!

I have a lot to say right now, but the baby wants out of the high chair.  More later!
