the inevitable process of thin
Thank you so much for all your wonderful support and comments after yesterday’s blog.
Yes.
Had a great meeting with the surgeon yesterday and it’s all go. I’m booked in for 10:30 am on the 20th of August. It’s kind of like Christmas or my birthday, really, just thinking about this. Just thinking about how in the natural course of my life I will be losing weight. I won’t have to exercise 3 hours a day like I did when I first lost weight back in the early 80s, or spend 24 hours a day obsessing about what I eat like I did the second time I lost weight, in the late 80s.
Things are a bit of a trial at the moment, with just having the Optifast. I was so hungry last night and my stomach wouldn’t stop gurgling, but I stuck to it. Today I’ll try drinking more water and stuff. I must say I’m very impressed with anyone who can stick with these meal replacements long enough to lose real weight. It’s a trial and very difficult, but at the moment I know that I only have to do it for another 2 weeks (well, 13 days, but who’s counting
? )
My other great bit of news today was that my Linda Spangle books arrived. I got Life is Hard Food is Easy and 100 Days of Weight Loss.
Thought you might enjoy these cheeky King Parrots. They hang around the windows and harass us until we give in and feed them. Such a lovely thing to see first thing in the morning.
I was having a chuckle about the comments and how we all look like we’re family. No Calverts in my background, Ruby Jean. I admit to having one of those faces that remind people of someone they knew, but I do think it’s funny that we all seem to. Is it coincidence or something more…? Well, I do feel as if I’m in very good company when I visit this blogsite, so that’s the important thing.
Evil Twin, in yesterday’s blog, is my best writing buddy. We’ve been friends for ages now and did a TAFE course together. We did a lot of the same subjects and the teachers sometimes got us mixed up. Our poetry teacher even took to calling us The Twins (coz we look so alike…yeah…) Of course as we all know, in any given set of twins there is an evil twin, though of course there’s no guarantee that it’s always the same twin. There’s a link on my blogroll to my writing group: Lazy River Writers and more information about Evil Twin and all my writing buddies there.
And speaking of blogrolls, Travelgal, I put all my links right there in the blogroll management page. It’s never had any affect on the “recent posts” update thingy. Sorry I can’t be of more help
Thought I’d leave you all with a smile. Boris loves to pop up on the verandah in the morning, just to see if there’s any left-over dog food for her breakfast.
