Box on

I’m really enjoying the focus and meditation sessions. I thought ten minutes would seem like forever with me sitting there in the cold, but it doesn’t. By the way, it does not stipulate being cold or naked in the book. That’s just the way I like to do it. For the time being. I’m sure I won’t be sitting out there in the dead of winter freezing my tits off, it’s just that at the moment we’re having this perfect autumn weather, very still and clear.

This morning I was focusing on exercise, having finally figured out that in order for the fat to melt off me, I’m going to have to heat it up a little, and hot flushes aren’t cutting it.

Boxing used to be my favourite thing. As a kid, Lionel Rose was my hero. He was Bantamweight champion of the world and I thought he was fantastic.

I’m disappointed to see how few photos of Lionel there are on the net, but this is a real nice one.

I no longer like to watch boxing, the idea of a sport whose aim is to batter the opponent into unconsciousness no longer appeals, but I did enjoy seeing Kosta Tszyu’s success.

And I like to box as exercise.

Beloved bought me a rig with a bag and speedball and I haven’t used it nearly enough. I also have gloves and focus pads. Why aren’t I using them?

Well this morning I was meditating about how good it would feel to use my muscles and work out with the bag. Already the gym room is falling into disrepair with me leaving the ironing board up and Beloved forgetting to put the vacuum cleaner away properly. There’s no reason for it, and I want to feel the good burn of well worked muscles in my arms and shoulders and torso and back.

Yeah! That’s the kind of thing I’m talking about.

Now, where are my gloves…?
