Peas and Wees

Sorry about the title of today’s blog, but honestly, that’s what it was all about for me yesterday. I was peeing like a dog in a fire hydarant factory. I don’t know why. I hadn’t drunk any more water than usual so buggered if I can tell you where it was all coming from, but I reckon I spent half the day in the toilet.

The only thing I can think of is that changes are being made, and there was a lot going on yesterday. In between trips to the toilet.

First of all, I missed a meal. Now, I know in all the books they tell you that the worst thing you can do in the whole universe is to miss out on a meal. The sky will catch fire, the seas will rise up, plagues of locusts etc, you know the deal. Worst of all, your metabolism will slow down and go into reverse and missing that meal will cause you to stack on about twelve kilos. Only when you think about the habits of thin people, they miss meals! They do. They sometimes even forget to eat – I have no real idea of how this is possible, any more than forgetting how to breathe, but yeah. Apparently that happens with thin people.

Okay, back to yesterday. I didn’t forget to eat, but I was working. My shift was 5:30 till 9:45. Right through dinnertime. So I decided to have a large, late lunch and that would be lunch and dinner. Linner, if you will. I wanted to see a movie, so I bought a sandwich with meat and lots of salad in it, and weakened and bought a Sprite Zero to go with (all that peeing had finally stopped and now I was thirsty). Since I have to buy food at the cinema to keep the boss happy, I was going to buy a packet of M&Ms and leave it unopened in my bag, but they are way expensive, so I had a choc top instead, and you can’t leave choc tops in your bag because they go all melty over everything so I ate it. Never mind. I’m sure I can withstand the assault of one ice cream.

I wasn’t hungry at work, in fact, didn’t even think of food. When I got home, Beloved and Possum and BF had had pizza for dinner and there was some left over and you know what I did?

Nothing.

I left that pizza in the fridge.

In fact it’s STILL THERE. Not because I have fabulous control and ironclad willpower, I just wasn’t hungry. I just didn’t want that pizza and I can’t tell you how much of an achievement that feels. I may have some of it for lunch. I’ll worry about that later.

Thought I’d put that nice picture of flowers there for you to relax with for a moment before I get to my next piece of earth-shattering news. Pretty, aren’t they? I wanted some autumn coloured flowers to decorate my kitchen. Had them there nearly two weeks and they still look good. I wanted the kitchen to look pretty for when Dad and StepMother came.

Okay, on to the next thing that happened yesterday: I EXERCISED. Yeah. I did. Real actual movement of body and muscles. I went here to FitnessMagazine where I’ve put my name down for some of their newsletters. They had a good set of 10 exercises and I downloaded them and printed them up and put them in my gym room and I DID THEM. They didn’t take a real long time. At the moment I’m not interested in exercises that take all day. I worked at them and enjoyed doing them.

Another strange thing happened yesterday, well, last night, anyway. As usual I listened to the CD as I was going to sleep. As usual I fell asleep listening to the CD. As usual I woke up when it was finished and took the earplugs out and rolled over to go back to sleep. Then I was lying there and it was like I could still hear that CD. It was like the music was still right there, in my head, filling my head. Filling me up. So strange. And  then I dreamt that I was slim and wearing the dress I bought for Christmas. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned that Christmas dress in an earlier blog, but I thought it would be nice to have a new dress. Not expensive, just a nice cotton dress with buttons up the front and I could wear something under it if it was a cool day, or just the dress if it was a hot day.

I did not try that dress on at the shop.

So Christmas day comes and I put the dress on. Could hardly fit my fat arms in the sleeve and there was no way on this green Earth I was going to get those buttons done up. There was a hand’swidth between them. Oh great. Lucky for me it was a coolish day so I wore leggings and a t-shirt and perservered with the dress and looked a bit dorky, but hey, I’m used to that. Well in the dream I was wearing that very dress. And I had the buttons done up. And it was a loose fit.

That’s what I’m talkin’ about.

Oh, and as for the peas in the title of today’s blog, well, I went to the nursery yesterday to get some plants for frogs to hide in around our pond. I also had an empty pot on my bedroom balcony, and decided I should grow something edible in it, so I bought some lettuce and snow pea seedlings. I love to go out on the balcony and snack on fresh stuff growing there. Maybe tomorrow my blog will be all about the stuff that grows on my balcony.

As I grow slim.
