Oh, the weekend. How I love them but dread them as well. I dread them because I tend to eat my way through the weekend.
I did go to the gym today. I only had about 40 minutes or so to work out. The kids club closes at 11am and I got there a little before 10:30 because we had some houses to look at this morning
I hit the treadmill and ran/walk for about 25 minutes. I went about 2.25 miles and I ran 1.25 of that!! WOO HOO!!! Not consecutively. I ran 2 laps, walked one, ran 2, walked one, ran 1, walked 2, and ran one more.
Food? Well, that’s a different story. I had an everything bagel with cream cheese this morning, then a salad from Chick-fil-a with fat/free honey mustard dressing and a few of the kids fries. Then later I a had some granola bars and a doughnut (WTF?!) Dinner is going to be a mixture of things. My MIL is in town and some friends are coming over. We just went to Whole Foods and got a few different flavors of Chicken Kabobs, Sausages, steak and some salads. I only plan on having the kabobs and a taste of the Thai Peanut Chicken Sausage because I don’t do steak. Then we got some different desserts. YUM!!! Hopefully I don’t overdo it.
Oh…. and just to add to everything. My SIL just called my MIL and said Jake’s brother just cut his finger off with a skil saw and she needs to take him to the ER and will MIL come and watch the kids. My BIL and SIL live 2 HOURS away from us and HER parents live 30 minutes from them. Why can’t her parents watch them?!! Plus, Jake would have to drive her down there because the rental car is in HIS name since her divers license is expired. UGHHH!!!!!! Can you divorce inlaws?
Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!!!

Exercise: I did not make it to the gym this morning. I gave it a good effort (my alarm went off and I hit snooze about 3 times) and then gave in to the fact I was just not getting up out of bed. I went back to sleep. SO, I will be going AFTER work!!
I discovered why I do better getting up first thing in the morning to go to the gym. By the time I get off work and get to the gym I DON’T WANT TO WORK OUT. I did a half-ass workout for all of about 20-30 minutes. But I went… that counts right?
Food
Total Daily Points Allowance: 26
Breakfast: Peaches and Cream Oatmeal - 4
Lunch: 1 cup taco soup - 1pt; Herbed Veggie Joe - 7pts; tomato - 0
Snack: 2 mini chocolate bars
; 1 pumpkin seed/cheddar flat bread crackerthigny - 2pts
Dinner: 2 buttermilk biscuits, 1 corn muffin, and Oven Roasted Turkey Salad with Honey French dressing from Cracker Barrel. Not the best, but of course it could have been a LOT worse eating there (lots of comfort foods, lots of fat)

Exercise: 30 minutes walk/run on treadmill. I acually ran 2 consecutive laps, ladies!! Of course, after running those 2 laps I didn’t want to run any more at all so I walked for awhile and then ran a little more right at the end. I think I need to change my music up in my ipod. I have a lot of rock, but I seem to run better to **shudder** pop music **shudder**. I think it’s the beat. Ick… but if it helps me run, I guess I need to do it. You should see me kick but to Mylie Cyrus
Food:
Breakfast: 3 bottles of water (before working out, during working out, post working out). Peaches and Cream Oatmeal - 4pts
Snack: plum - 1pt
Lunch: Buffalo Slim Wrap from Roly Poly - 11 pts; baked lays -3pts; diet coke
Snack: 1 mini milky way bar (if I eat it, I must post it
) No idea how many points, but probably no more than 2; sugar free jello - 0
It got a little dicey at home after work. I thought we were going to have my son’s first soccer practice so in anticipation of a long time until supper, I made him a turkey sandwhich and had a pita with hummus and turkey myself (4pts)
Then his coach called and said no practice due to a storm that was coming though. Okay…. well, I’m not going to cook now since he and i just ate. We’ll just find something. I ended up having leftovers from last night which work out to 7 points going by the nutritional info given in the book but they do not list fiber and that brings down the points, so whatever…
I ended up with about 32 points for the day, but that’s okay. I probably gained the 6 activity points this morning and there is the extra flex points i still have.

So I was super excited about the dinner I was going to make last night. It was Herbed Veggie Burgers from this low fat vegetarian cookbook that I’ve had forever. I’ve made a lot of recipes from it, but seem to do the same ones over and over again. Mr. Eryn wasn’t going to be home so I figured I’d make something I knew he would crinkle his nose at. This recipe involved chopping veggies very fine (a great use for my new food processor) and mixing them with some low fat cheeses, some grains, and egg whites. Then you form them into “burgers” and place in a pan coated with cooking spray. Cook until brown on one side, flip, then same on the other. Sounds easy, right?
Yeah, up until the part where when you are flipping the burgers they all fall apart. I don’t know if it’s because I used liquid egg whites from a carton (instead of whites from an actual egg) or what, but these things didn’t hold together. In a fit of frustration, I finally broke them all up with my spatula and mixed it all together in the pan.
THE OLD ME… would have given up completely and called for pizza. In fact, I contemplated that for about 10 minutes or so. But I didn’t want pizza. And after spending an exorbanant amount of money at the grocery store this past weekend, I didn’t want to spend money on pizza when I still had a salvagable dinner on the stove.
SO, I went back into the kitchen and decided to have Herbed Veggie Joes. They aren’t sloppy but I just put some of the Herbed Veggie Mess on a hamburger bun, topped it with a tomato, some hot sauce, and some fat free mayonaise and was good to go. And YUM!!! I’m so glad I did. It was much healthier than pizza and I didn’t waste all that food!!
Oh, and guess what I saw in the grocery store yesterday, bigprof? Cheez-its… BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!!! Oh, the horror!! I only needed to get 3 things… and I thought about those damn cheez-its the whole time. I almost bought them for the kids.. FOR THE KIDS!!!! I resisted though because I knew exactly who would have been eating the cheez-its and it WOULD NOT have been the kids.

I didn’t? Well, I did. I gingerly stepped on the scale this morning at the gym and lo and behold, I have broken through the 208 threshold and am now at 207.5. Or something like that. It’s one of those stupid medical scales which, according to Mr. Eryn, “are the most accurate.” I hate them. I’m always like, “Is the thing in the middle? No, it’s toward the bottom so I’m too far. Move it just a tad… dang, now it’s up near the top. CAN SOMEONE JUST GIVE ME A DIGITAL SCALE?!!!”
Anyway, remember last week I had showed a 1.5lb weight gain since the last time I was on. Well, I got rid of that PLUS some!! WOO HOO!!!!!

Exercise: It was a poor excuse for a gym workout. For one, I was so tired this morning, I was moving slow. By the time I got to the gym, got my bag in the locker, got my towel and water, and got settled on a machine it was already 5:30am. I have to stop at 6 in order to shower and get to work on time. So I did 20 minutes on the elliptical (very slow because I’m tired) and then some weights. Meh.
Food:
Total Daily Points Allowance: 26pts
Breakfast: Peaches and Cream Oatmeal - 4pts
Snack: 1/2 of ww vanilla yogurt - 1pt (I’ll count the whole thing even though I only ate half); herbed tomatos - 3 (from the olive oil)
Lunch: Okay, I don’t know how many points this was, but I had the BEST lunch today. I have been craving this since the last time I had it about a month ago. There is this wrap place here in Orlando called Eden’s Fresh Co that does only wraps and salads. They are all vegetarian, but you can get “protien” added if you want. I got the Chitwood Wrap and it is SO good!! I’ve been to this place 4 times and I’ve gotten this wrap 3 times. I’m hooked. It’s a whole wheat wrap with romaine lettuce, granola, mandrin oranges, dried cranberries, gorganzola cheese, slivered almonds and a walnut raspberry vinegarette. YUM!!!. Oh, and pita chips and humus. And a diet coke. I just want to say once more… YUM!!! I could have eaten another one just because they are so good, but my wallet and my stomach wouldn’t let me.
I’m not worried about the points b/c I’ve been low on my points all week plus there is the 35 extra points each week. And I still had all of today’s. I’m good.

1. delitaagain — thanks for adding me to your blogroll. Let me know what the name of your blog is so I can reciprocate the comments
2. I hate trying to buy a house. This is so FREAKING annoying. An appraiser came today (that we paid for btw) Hubby (Mr. Eryn as he was called earlier today) and i have a feeling that this house is going to appraise at much more than it is listed for. If that happens, the bank can say they will not accept any less than X amount… then we are screwed and have to start over again or become house broke. Neither of us want to be strapped to a point that all our paychecks are going to mortgage and not be able to do the things we want to do. But we both want this house. I also had 2 guys that i work with come over and look at it. One has his contractor’s license so he did an inspection for us, and I had the other look at the plumbing in the master shower. There are quite a bit of things we need to do to the house besides getting appliances - all cosmetic - but all need to be done. UGH!!!
3. I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to Rochester for a weekend in September. The guys are playing TWICE in one day!! That is SEVEN hours of staring at listening to the guys. We have vouchers. I wouldn’t have to pay. I’m trying to talk Mr. Eryn into letting me go.
4. Mr. Eryn’s mom is coming in this weekend to look at houses. For her - not us
I do NOT want to go house hunting with her. For one, I don’t even want to do it for myself. And they can spend quite a bit more than we can so I would probably just get annoyed.
5. I WANT RESULTS!! I am so impatient. It’s why I give up so quickly. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVEN’T DROPPED 10lbs!! I’VE BEEN WORKING OUT FOR TWO DAYS!!” Ugh… really, all I want is for someone to NOTICE something. Or the scale to say I’ve lost 10lbs.
6. I hate my hair. It’s limp and icky and a gross color right now. What color should I do? I REALLY REALLY want black but my skin tone would look horrible. I need to have it done at a salon. The last time I used the box it washed out in a week. $20 down the drain — LITERALLY!
7. I LOVE MY 3 FAT CHICKS FRIENDS!!! (you know who you are!!)
8. WHY IS IT STILL FREAKING RAINING!!! BLAGHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I could keep going, but I will not subject you to anymore torture.

Anyone see this article on MSN (maybe I’m the only one in front of a computer all day). Anyway, this study links early ear infection to obesity in adults. Something about the nerve damage or something. It all makes sense now!! I had a ton of ear infections when I was little. I can still remember the taste of the pencillian to this day. NO WONDER I’M OVERWEIGHT!!! A breakthrough — a defining moment…. there is obviously nothing I can do about it so I’m just going to go eat a whole pizza by myself!!
Just Kidding… I won’t go do that. But it is an interesting article. Sort of scary too. My son had an ear infection every month from about 15 months to the time he turned 2 and we finally put tubes in his ears. He is the skinniest little bean pole though now at 6. No sign of obesity yet. Hmmmmmm….

An email that I got from hubby this morning:
Guess what I got handed today?
GASP!!! Heart pound… anxiety starts…. the worst thoughts going through your head.
I emailed him back saying I was hoping it’s not a pink slip. He’s only 4 months into this new job and we all know how the economy is right now.
THANKFULLY… it is not a pink slip. He was handed a HUGE project that basically involves moving an entire call center to another location. He’s the lead on the project which is AWESOME since he has only been in the job 4 months (although has about 5 years experience from Disney)
Whew…

Exercise: 5:00am - 20 minute leisurely walk through the forest on the treadmill
You should have seen all the wildlife!! 30 minute session with Personal Trainer. Why the leisurely walk today? (really, the fastest I went was 2.5mph) Well, I was thinking… usually I do a hard cardio session either on the treadmill or on the elliptical machine before my training sessions. That’s fine when we do arms, but today was leg day and I usually can’t walk for 4 days afterwards. So I figured I’d take it easy for the cardio… just get moving a little bit… and then let my workout be the training session. Hopefully it worked. My legs are tired, but they don’t feel like they normally do after a session. We’ll see what happens by this afternoon.
And to answer tiny2b’s question: Yes, I am fine getting up early, but by the afternoon I am wiped out. Actually, by 9-10 am I am wiped out. I would love nothing more than to put my head on my desk and sleep the afternoon away but that does not happen. I’m still waiting for those endorphins they say exercise gives you to kick in. This is my second week of it, so we’ll see what happens down the road
Food:
Total Daily Point Allowance: 26pts
Breakfast - Peaches and Cream Oatmeal - 4pts Today I’m using Steel Cut Oatmeal. This is my first time trying it and I really like it. I like it better than regular oatmeal. There is more texture to it so it’s not just mush.
Lunch - 1 cup taco soup - 1pt; 2 pita pockets (1 whole pita - I was just too hungry yesterday after eating only 1/2 of one) - 3pts; 2 tbsp hummus - 2pts; 2 tbsp salsa - 0pts; tomato/ raw baby spinach - 0
Total so far: 10pts. I have a w/w yogurt in the freezer to eat if I get hungry this afternoon. I am PLANNING *PLANNING* on cooking dinner tonight, but we have an appraiser and some inspectors meeting us at the house we are trying to buy, so I’m not sure how this will work out.
Snack: Weight Watchers Boston Creme Yogurt - 1pt. I put it in the freezer when I got to work so it feels decadent… plus it takes me longer to eat it.
Dinner: Swedish “Meatballs” and dilled potato casserolle - 6pts; herbed tomatoes - 1pt (guesstimate b/c of the olive oil); garlic bread - 4pts
Snack: 1 plum - 1pt
Total Points Used: 23pts out of 26
Hmmm… I’m still 3 points shy. I could eat something else. I WANT to eat something else. I’m hungry. But I really don’t have anything I WANT to eat. I’m afraid if I go try to find a snack I’ll end up grazing and totally blow my points. MUST. NOT. EAT.
