Oh yeah… and I ran a 5k yesterday and I’m leaving for Dallas tonight

Okay, so I walked and ran, but I finished it 38:15!! YAY!!! That is the fastest I have ever done it. I’ve done it at the gym a few times lately and I’ve finshed just under 45 minutes!!

GO ME!!!

As for the leaving for Dallas part… hubby’s grandmother died last night so we are headed out tonight and back on Thursday.

And…. we’re back (it’s a long one!)

Whew…. what a week. I always feel like I am playing catch up when I am gone for a weekend. Work was crazy this week too. And we didn’t get out early the day before the 4th… not fair!!

You all aren’t here though to hear about that… you guys want to hear about my crazy weekend!! It was great!! I love getting away. People always ask me why I keep going back to NY every few months. Well, it’s my getaway. Everyone needs them and I’ve come to the realization that I deserve them!! If not, I would go crazy. When I’m there I don’t have to worry about what my kids are doing, I don’t have to wake up early with them, I don’t have to cook dinner or do laundry. It is completely and utterly MY time!! When I go out at home, I worry if the kids are being good for the sitter, what time I need to be home for the sitter to get home, not wanting to be out late because I know I’ll be getting up early with the kids, etc, etc. Going to NY gives me freedom. And by the time I get back, I miss my kids and my husband and the chaos of my life.

So Friday, I left Orlando and got to Rochester around 4:00pm. My friend picked me up and we went and got ready at her house to see the band. We went early because the lead singer of the band does his own acoustic stuff and he was playing in the evening at the same club the band would be playing that night. The show wasn’t as good as normal that night though. I think it was a mixture of things. This wasn’t the same bar they normally play at so the energy wasn’t there, the sound guys kept screwing up the sound, 2 of the members were already exhausted because one had been on his roof all day working and the other had taken his kids to a waterpark all day. Every one of the guys apologized to me afterwards for it sucking so bad. I joked they owed me $300 (cost of my plane ticket) if they didn’t make it up on Saturday.

Saturday my friend and I went shopping, took her kids to a little water park at the community center down the street from her, and then got ready to go back out that night. Saturday night was MUCH better!! They were playing at their normal bar, so the energy was there. The sound guy knew what he was doing because it was their normal sound guy. In a word, they ROCKED!! It was so much fun. I told them they didn’t owe me money anymore.

All in all a good weekend… too much to drink, lots of sleeping and vegging out, and hanging with a good friend.

I surely didn’t want to be back to work on Monday. Thankfully it was a short week. Since I didn’t make it to the grocery store last week, my eating wasn’t THAT great. I didn’t overdo it..somehow I lost 3-4 lbs. I was at the gym every night though. Hubby and I signed up for a personal trainer too. 6 times a month for the next 12 months. Hmmm…

Okay, so picture time…I don’t know if a difference can be seen or not.

This is from Halloween last year:

Here is St. Patty’s Day:

And now this summer:

I’ve lost close to 20lbs if not more since Halloween last year. I don’t know if it’s reflected in the pictures or not.

Oh and last but not least: my souvieneir from the weekend:

Oh yes, it’s a belly button ring. And yes, it hurt. And no, I wouldn’t do it again. I would have rather gotten another tattoo (if I had known what i wanted and where)

So this week it is back to work(on weight loss that is). Going to the grocery store today. I think I am going to go back to the flex points and see if that works better. Plus the trainers will help.
