Oh, how positively luxurious and lovely NOT to be rushing about getting ready for work, and NOT gearing up for the long commute! DS is fast asleep, poor baby - he was still on L.A. time, naturally, when he got in last night, and so we were up chattering until 2:30 this morning. His flight was delayed and he didn’t get in until a bit after 9:00 - DD & I (The DD whose house this is) drove down to Providence to pick him up, and the plans for Chinese food for all had to end up being scrapped, as we wouldn’t have made it home until 10:00 or so, and everybody except me & DH had to work this morning and the little kiddos had school. So, DD, DS & I stopped at a Chili’s for something to eat on our way back, and postponed the Chinese food until tonight. Then, of course, even after DD had gone to bed in her own house, DS & I stayed up. I woke up at 9:00 - once the sun is up, I’m not long for the bed, so 9:00 actually constitutes “sleeping late” for me.

I have no idea what we’ll do today - perhaps not all that much. DD is working from home (next door) so perhaps once DS wakes up we’ll have some breakfast together. I bought all manner of egg beaters (DS is careful about what he eats, and has eaten egg beaters for years, now - probably since they started making them) and LF bagels with FF cream cheese, loads of fruit, some soy pretend sausage, etc., etc., so we can have a nice big breakfast (as recommended so highly by Jon Gabriel), we’ll have a good lunch later this afternoon, and then when it’s time to get the Chinese food, DH & I will have already had our major food for the day and be satisfied with something small and light.

DS did twenty minutes of flat out RUNNING on DD’s treadmill last night - it was painful to watch. He said he needed to move his legs after being cramped up in a plane all day. Wow. It’s great to be young, eh? I do about fifteen minutes of brisk walking on that thing and I’m pooped. It’s WAY more strenuous than hiking or walking in the outdoors where DH & I are prone to stopping to see birds and interesting bushes and tree configurations, or watching the water eddy and swirl its way down brooks and streams. We sometimes put on bursts of speed, but mostly we just try to keep up a good pace until something distracts us. It’s looking pretty outside today, but I may not take much advantage of it, as I’m a little tired from last night’s marathon talking and visiting. This may be a lay-low sort of day until it’s time for our gathering tonight.

I am feeling drawn to the scale in the bathroom this morning, and am fighting the urge quite desperately. I KNOW I have some more pounds to lose yet, it’s highly unlikely that the scale will make me happy, and what is it, anyway, with this need of ours to weight and measure everything?

Well, enough for now. Have a good day, all,

Hugs

Z

Well you are doing fabulous - my darling friend. Glad you are enjoying the visit with DS - I still love having mine live with us - although if I see him an hour a week I am doing well LOL.
Funny about him running on the treadmill - I was talking to a good friend on Saturday and their son had just returned home from Australia (he is living and working there for three years). First thing he did is get changed and go for a run - YIKES when we flew home from New Zealand I only wanted to sleep.

    Enjoy!!!!

Don’t you just hate the way the scales look at you and say “Go on. I DARE you!” and you think “oh, just one toe, it won’t hurt…”

Keep up the great work. The big breakfast sounds yummy and the good work on the tready. Though a walk with DH in the bush and stopping to look at birds sounds just wonderful.

F&*ck that scale ms. z - live in the moment. If you’d like I’ll torture myself by getting on that thing! You focus on having a fantastic time with DS, a lovely chinese dinner and grinning from ear to ear!
