Still here!

I have been neglecting this blog for a while now…  I am still plugging along with my lifestyle change and am feeling good and healthy.  The latest number on the scale this morning showed 251.8 (then it was 250.6 after a second potty trip…  I am still doing the couch to 5K program and am now finished Week 6 Day 2 :)  I also just ordered the 30 Day Shred DVD.  I plan to add that to my routine as soon as it arrives.  I am trying to stick to a meat and veggie and fruit rich diet.  I find that the protein keeps me fueled up for longer than days when I don’t eat a much meat.  It works for me.  I best get back to work now…

Still going

I haven’t been keeping up with my writing here lately…  I have been continuing with my transformation though!  The scale this morning said 250.6!  That makes me happy - almost into a new decade!  I am still moving along with my Couch to 5K program and have finished Week 4 Day 2 this morning.

I best get some work done now instead of procrastinating…

Day 28

I’ve been neglecting my notes here…  My weight climbed up a bit and now is back at 253 this morning.  I ate toomuch on Sunday and think I may have picked up a flubug or food poisening… Both hubby and I felt pretty rotten on Monday. 

I did week 3 day 1 of the couch to 5K program yesterday and this morning planned to go tot he gym but we took the car in for a checkup instead.  We had about an hour to waste so we went for a walk.  We figure we coved at least two miles.  I’ll call that my workout for today.  I’ll do week 3 day 2 ont he couch to 5K tomorrow morning before work. 

I also need to start getting some pictures done so that I can watch my progress.  I also need to hunt down my tape measure and start getting some measurements tracked as well.  That way I will know if I am staying on track or if I am really hitting plateaus.

I also just found out this morning that a friend of the family passed away overnight.  She has always been large and I don’t think she took good care of herself.  She was in her early 60s or late 50s (not quite sure).  It is another reminder that I need to do this for myself.  I want to be around for many years to come!  I wantto grow old with the hubby (and he keeps saying the same - he encourages me to stay healthy so we can grow old together).  I want that!!

I have also started keeping a journal of what I plan to eat and what exercise I plan to do each day and at the end of the day I will see if I kept to the plan.  I think that having another way to keep myself accountable will be good.

I suppose I should start getting some real work done here…

Day 23

Another day… The scale read 252.2 this morning so that was nice.  Yesterday was a good eating day.  My soup (ham with carrots, corn, onion, garlic and beans) was very good.  Hubby also thought it was very good.  I finished the second week of the Couch to 5K program. It is feeling good!

This morning we finally got back to the gym.  Walked a half mile on the track and then did a half hour on the eliptical and finished with another half mile on the trackto cool down.  It felt good although my legs are tired now!  We went to the Culture Fest at school today and it was fun.  I may have overdone the eating a bit but I’ll have only a slim fast for supper.  I tried the Portugese food - rice with a lentil and curry dish and a chicken and curry dish. Very good but very spicy!  The I tried the Muslim food (African?) - rice with a chicken in peanut butter sauce - very Yummy!!  And I tried a few bites of some German chocolate cake :)

Time to quit procrastinating and get a bit of work done here…

Day 22

This cold has finally lifted enough that I am feeling much better today!  I really don’t like being sick.  I don’t like the tired sleepy feelings.  But this morning I am feeling good!  The scale is staying pretty stable.  I am at 253.0 this morning.  As long as I keep eating well and exercising this weight will slowly, but surely, come off (and stay off).

Work is also keeping me busy. I now have three rejection letters this week so I am trying not to let that get me down and won’t turn to food to feel better about it.  This is a move foreward for me!

Speaking of work. Time to go find other journals to send the rejects out to ….

Day 20

WOW I had me quite the pity party yesterday!  I am still feeling under the weather this morning but at least I am feeling better than yesterday.  The scale was also good this morning and I was in at 252.4.  Today I have class in the morning and then I think I may head home early and veg out some more and maybe take a nap.  I think the extra sleep helps me get over the cold.  I had a slim fast for breaky and am meeting a friend in the cafeteria for lunch.  I plan on hitting the salad bar there and will stick to mostly veggies and some chicken on it.  Planning on shrimp and broccoli for supper.  Plus I’ll toss in a couple apples for snacks along the way and it’s a good eating day.

I suppose I best get some work done now.  Another paper was rejected this morning so I need to mull over where to send it next.  I seem to be adding in more than just diet and exercise into this blog but it is a place for me to vent.  Sometimes I think it is some of the disappointments from work that get to me and lead to some of my emotional eating.  I try not to let the rejection letter get to me but it isn’t always easy.  Two rejection letters already this week and it’s only Wednesday morning (early)  I know not to take the rejections personally but it is tough sometimes.  Rejection is common and I should be getting used to it by now….  Another pity party! Shake it off and keep plugging :)

Day 19

No change in the scale this morning - I’m still at 254.4  At least it is not a gain.  I also have a stinking cold. I hate being sick…  And I am stuck having to teach a class this afternoon that I can’t cancel or get out of.  Oh well, it will soon enough be time to go home to get into my jammies and veg out.  Hubby is making a couple small steaks on the BBQ for supper tonight and we’ll add a bunchof veggies along with it.  I had a slim fast shake for breaky and also for lunch along with an apple for a snack.  I’ll have another apple later today. 

Soooo tired. I could fall asleep on my desk!  How long to nap time??  Actually I can be heading home in about 3 hours and 15minutes (not that I am counting).  I really am babbling here aren’t I??

Time to go try doing something more costructive…

Day 18

So I’ve been busy and have not written anything here lately.  But the dieting is going well. I am at 254.4 this morning and am happy with that.  I did some treat eating on Sunday but I kept it within reason and am pleased with myself.  So far I am down 11 pounds since I started to get back on track. 

The couch to 5K training is also going well.  I did week two day one this morning and it felt pretty good.

I am feeling like a bit of a cold is coming on so I may take it easy this afternoon and get some extra sleep.  We’ll see how I am feeling after lunch.  Right now my energy level is pretty flat.

Day 14

Another good day yesterday.  The scale this morning tells me 257.4 :grin:

Today I had a slim fast for breaky and plan on a slim fast for supper.  I have another lunch time thing today. Box lunches will be provided - which means a sandwich, chips, fruit and a cookie or brownie.  I’ll eat the sandwich and fruit and take the rest home to hubby. I feel good after my second couch to 5K workout yesterday morning.  I am actually looking forward totomorrow’s run!

Day 13

Well another day gone by and done well :)  I had a lunch meeting and behaved myself with eating there.  I had some chicken and veggies with a little bit of pasta and a salad.  I did not have dessert - lemon slice which I’ve had before and it’s not worth eating - but I did have a bun…  I had some shrimp and garlic with veggies for supper.  I used the zero calorie butter spray on the veggies and in cooking the shrimp. It was good!

The scale this morning said 258.4 :)  I did day two of the Couch to 5K program this morning and it was a bit easier than it was on day one.  I walked at 3mph and did the running part at 4.5mph (except for the last 60 seconds which I did at 5mph) Yay me!!

Off to do some work now…
