Beginning Again….

I put on a little weight , been eating junk food lately to cope with some depression. There shouldn’t be any excuses. My goal is to hit the solid 170’s within this month. I am not going to weigh myself now. I think I skipped a period, but I cannot be pregnant. No way. I need to up the work outs and get back on my eating only healthfully plan. Fruit and veges, and fish… It’s been difficult lately. I am quitting smoking on November 20th and I don’t want to gain weight back, but lose even more by using exercise as a tool. This is so important to me. I will get back to blogging on my weight soon. My focus now is just eating healthfully, no more junk food, and sipping tea, and being more productive in my life. Let’s see how it goes.

I blew it today and ate chips and dip… and a sandwich yesterday. Worked out on Friday 40 minutes, on the elliptical. My goal is to reach the 170’s solid within October. My quit smoking date is November 20th, 2008. I am concerned about gaining weight after quiting smoking ~ If you have done both, please drop me a comment. I’d love to hear about it.  My goal is to use exercise as a tool and stretching and tea ~ too. I still weigh in at about 185.

I weigh in at 184 today. Today I am not working out - but tomorrow I am! I worked out yesterday only 30 minutes on the elliptical, which I must move up my workout again to 40 minutes on the elliptical and weight machines. I have lost a total of 24 lbs since January ~ my goal is to get into the solid 170’s in October. Let’s see how I will do.

short term goal pasted above for sometime in October. Hope I haven’t reached a plateau. Wish me well.

breakfast — oatmeal
lunch — cottage cheese with crushed pineapple

exercise –
40 minutes on elliptical
20 minutes on elliptical
4 sets of 25 sit ups

I need to up my level on the elliptical. Don’t feel I am getting the work out I was getting before. I feel so determined to lose weight. I am having an appointment with a trainer tomorrow and feel nervous about it because I am still out of shape. After being cooped up for three winters I just am. I need to keep at it.

June 23 2008

breakfast - oatmeal
dinner and lunch combined - chicken with cottage cheese and fruit
small piece of chicken and bell pepper with light ranch dressing/piece of swiss cheese

exercise - 40 minutes elliptical
20 minutes elliptical and 20 minutes treadmill
4 sets of 25 sit ups

I know I am not eating enough, but I really want to lose weight. I keep thinking that I need to burn more calories than I take in in one day so I am planning to go to the gym again this evening. I really want to lose weight. It is so important to me. I weighed in today at 188 on the scale at the gym. my arms still hurt from the machine, so I have been refraining from the machines for a little while. My speed on the elliptical is only 3.8 and other girls are going 6.6 and 9.9! I hope I am going at a descent speed to still help me. I hate doing sit ups because I feel afraid they are not working. My stomach does not hurt the next day so I feel like they are not working ~ has anyone else ever felt this way about sit ups? I am going to keep at it. I feel so determined now that I got a car to go to the gym! I have been cooped up for three winters. Now tonight I am going to drink water…

breakfast — oatmeal
lunch — plan on salad with croûtons and light ranch
dinner — salmon with vegetables ( bell pepper and onions)

exercise — 40 minutes of cardio on elliptical
need to do sit ups…

and drink water today!
I cheated and weighed in today at 187.8
I shouldn’t weight in again until next Saturday ~

breakfast — oatmeal
lunch — cottage cheese and an apple
dinner — salad with croûtons and light ranch dressing.
snack — three slices of swiss cheese late night

exercise — 40 minutes of cardio

I tackled a machine!
one for my chest and back of my arms — I did three sets of 12 on each machine at 30 lbs. That’s really all for right now.

I weighed in this morning at 189.6.
I will weigh in next week now….

june 19 2008

breakfast - oatmeal with a little skim milk and fresh strawberries
lunch - apple and some low fat cottage cheese /water
snack - few croûtons and a couple bites of low fat cottage cheese / coffee
dinner - salad with croûtons and a little light ranch dressing
snack - late night 4 pieces of swiss cheese (i was so hungry) and some fat free milk

a couple glasses of blush wine

exercise — 29 minutes on elliptical
sit ups — 4 sets of 30 crunches
sit ups — 4 sets of 30 crunches
– 35 minutes on elliptical again.

plan on trying a machine. It was a little too crowded earlier. still crowded to try a machine. I feel so nervous and lack the confidence right now.

June 18 2008

today I ate

breakfast ::: oatmeal with coffee
lunch ::: fried potatoes in light (I can’t believe it’s not butter) — I felt depressed so I ate this
dinner ::: fresh salmon with vegetables cooked in olive oil and a cup of water

exercise
I cleaned for one hour
sit ups ::: 4 sets of 25

weigh ::: 191.6

goal ::: to get in the 180’s solid by mid July

thank you to those who commented on my blog.
I plan on getting to the gym, but still feel overwhelmed. I hope to go tomorrow. Maybe I will try just one machine first, and then move on to another one once I get used to that one. I hope to do 25 minutes on the elliptical tomorrow first. How much cardio do others do to start? And do you cross train? Or do you think sticking with one machine eg: elliptical for cardio is OK? I like the elliptical a lot. I go on manual. level 2. I also smoke about a pack a day which I need to cut back. It’s really difficult.

I am going to have a couple small glasses of blush wine later.

I have not kept my commitments to blog everyday. I’m sorry.
I have felt discouraged because I’ve not had a car, but I just got one. smiles.
So I can go to the gym. The thing is that I feel discouraged at the gym too, with all the weights there and stuff. It’s overwhelming.
Has anyone else ever felt overwhelmed at the gym? How did they conquer it?
Today I weighed in at 191.6 —

breakfast — oatmeal with nonfat milk, sweetener, and fresh strawberries
lunch — two small baked potatoes with I can’t believe it’s not butter
dinner — salmon and brocolli with onions in olive oil

coffee
and some water to drink
a diet pepsi with a little real pepsi mixed in…
