Some break that was. Sadly, I believe I’ve probably gained weight during my absence. I weighed around 165 the other day but I was feeling bloated from my period so I don’t know why I even hopped on the scale. It’s just a number, right? For now, I’m focusing on overall health. I also decided I better start counting calories. I’ve been avoiding it because I used to be very obsessed with calorie counting and was scared it’d happen again. But it’s the only way I know how to lose weight so…
I’m off work today, no class until 3PM so I’m going to work out this morning at the gym and get it out of the way. I’m aiming for a good 30-minutes on the elliptical. It’s a start.
Breakfast:
About 1.5 cups of oatmeal - 221 calories (according to calorieking.com)
Exercise:
20-minute Turbo Jam
Meal 2:
WestSoy Tempeh (1/3 block) cooked in EVOO, topped with green bell peppers - About 200 calories
1 slice honey wheat bread - 70 calories
Baked zucchini in Italian sauce - 60 calories
Meal 3:
Kashi Black Bean Mango & Rice bowl - 320 calories
Meal 4:
1/4 Tempeh patty and a slice of honey wheat bread - 220
Soy protein bar - 240 calories
Soy milk 30 calories
Bowl of raisin bran in soy milk 150 calories
1/2 glass of wine & 1 Amber Bock beer - 246 calories
Total calories = 1757
Clearly not a good day calorie-wise. I guess this is why I started counting, right? I kind of scarffed down everything in sight after class. I had a late night study group and wanted to eat so I wouldn’t be tempted to buy a bunch of crappy coffee house food. Hmm… I’ve got a ways to go still. This will only get better.

Today I weighed myself after having eaten a banana, cereal with soy milk and some water. Why? Perhaps I wanted to torture myself. I haven’t weighed in in months which is probably my problem. I was 160.2 by the way. I really want to get back on Weight Watchers because it was so easy to follow, but as a poor college student I’m having a really hard time affording it. So I’m going to do something else. For the next 3 weeks I’m going to stop going out, stop drinking, and just focus on my health. Who knows, maybe the habit will stick but doing this guarantees me a couple things:
1. I’ll have a lot more money in my pocket.
2. I’ll be making better choices for my health.
So the next 3 weeks are going to be pretty intense. Today is Day 1 for me.

Summary
I think I indulged at dinnertime. I went out to dinner with an old girlfriend I haven’t seen in years. I don’t often go out to eat, so I let myself have a little slack I guess. It could have been better–but it sure could have been worse too! Overall, I think I did pretty well.

Summary:
Holy, smokes guys! Clearly I lost my mind after lunch. Clearly I did. All that working out for nothing. It all started with that bag of gummies. I have an insatiable sweet tooth and haven’t had any sugar for like…days. So I started out by eating just a 110 cal serving, which turned into most of the entire bag. Crap. Then my stop at DQ. I’m ridiculous.
I’m seriously considering counting calories again. I lost a lot of weight when I was counting calories, I just am scared I’ll get obsessed again. Perhaps it’s worth a shot. I lost 30 pounds by counting calories. I think I’m going to have to try it again. Because eyeballing my portions isn’t working for me.

Clearly, I could have made much better choices. It’s hard being a college student, trying to afford gas, trying to afford food, tuition, etc. and still eating healthily. I am going grocery shopping next week, so I’ll definitely be stocking up on healthy foods. I ate way too much crap today.
