Fighting the Dark Cloud of pudge!!

a journey into the psyche of weight gain

To Bree…

Happy to report that the pup is doing well.  Turns out it was an under the skin cyst.  Still cost a small fortune but at least it wasn’t life threatening.  Speaking of life threatening, Mom is coming home from the hospital tomorrow.  She has severe COPD.  Although one day I was told she would be on oxygen forever and the next day she was walking down the hall, with a walker but no oxygen.  I was told “she recovered more than we thought!”.  Reminds me of the song…”what a difference a day makes..24 little hours..”.  Who am I to complain?!!  I took the opportunity to toss all her cigarettes and lighters while she was away.  So, if you heard a scream in your neighbourhood - it was coming from Toronto!!

DH started his new job.  Seems to like it and seems to be adjusting to life in Canada.  I attended some of the annual Mary Kay convention. I really do want to try to make this thing work for me, so if you know anyone in the Toronto area who might like to try it, let me know.  Or anyone in Canada who wants to buy products.

I appreciate all of the support you have given me over this period.

Diette wise, I am pretty well stable at 198 or the infamous 197.5.  I need to unpack more to locate my Reno Tosca book on Eating Clean.  DH and I are taking turns  cooking dinner.  We both have diet restrictions so cooking is a challenge for us.  We both can cook but modifying our recipes to suit the other one’s needs is a challenge.  Still, I seem to live for challenges!

Hope you are all doing well.

Surely that skale is wrong!

I find I always gain weight when I come to CT.  No idea why that is.  Perhaps I just have less control over what I eat - or am trying more new things.

I actually miss exercise.  With the move, the wedding et all I have had no time to work out, and I miss it!  When I get back to Toronto on Friday I will be contending with my Mom- who is not well, and my poor dog will be Elizabethan collared on Monday as he has to have a mysterious lump (let us all pray it is a calcium deposit) on his hind leg.  The poor pup has had a terrible dermatitis on his front paw which caused us to discover that his paws fold over (like a sharpei’s skin).  Ulcers developed in the fold making it very painful for him to walk. No wonder the guy dawdles along.  Although re constructive paw surgery  is an option, the vet favours cleaning out the folds daily.  He is at the kennels right now so they are merely making sure his paw pads are clean.

Such has been my life.  DH starts his new job on July 21.  Many changes.

Have missed you all!

back with vengence

OK, I am married, somewhat destressed and ready to play again!

Waitte, is about the same 197.5 forever haunting me.  Wedding went well - except the chocolate fountain never showed up.  C’est la vie. Hotel did not charge us, obviously, have upgraded our first year anniversary room and thrown in the breakfast buffet.  Added bonus, they forgot the bar wasn’t included so we weren’t charged for it.  I did ask about the bar, but they said there was no charge.  After that, I didn’t want to open a pandora’s box as obviously no one  took sotck of how much was drank.  God was smiling on our nuptials, obviously!

The pool in my new condo building looks worthy of a go.  Once we are back from CT I will attempt to use it.

Hope you are all well

Shari
