All I can say is 196!! 196!! 196!!! Who thought a urinary infection would actually be a good thing?? but it seemed to get me over that plateau.
My immediate goal of 195 is soooo close that I can taste it!! (pun intended!)

OK, today’s scale read 197…not a HUGE difference, but FINALLY I am under 197.5. Credit the urinary infection. My antibiotics wouldn’t allow me dairy products. Add that to the wheat allergy and voila! So, just get ill and you have an instant diet!
Other than that, I decided to take the day off. I was in course all weekend (can you imagine?!!) but left early both days. Thank goodness for understanding teachers! It had been a bad week for me. One of my favourite students was finally expelled. Many teachers had been looking out for this kid. His brothers are all gang members and he was in my spec ed class as a combined slow learner/behavioural student. It can be a deadly combination in certain situations, and he is, sadly, in that combination. Last month I went to court with him to ensure he had an adult with him. Apparently his mother couldn’t go the previous time, so just in case, I went too. It was to set a trial date for his robbery/extortion charge. When I asked him, he told me he wanted the ipod. He is 14 years old - 15 this week. I fear that he will never finish high school now, and suspect he will be in jail, or murdered, before he is 18.
Sometimes I wonder if I am cut out for teaching. I get too caught up in it. Most teachers live their work 10 months a year. I think that is why we get summers off. We need it to recharge emotionally and physically. Perhaps I am wrong.
Anyway, to get back onto a happy note… 197!! Thank you so much for all of your support!

Hey there!
It has been a while since I last blogged. Really, I have just been so busy with work. Amazing how we work work work to pay bills bills bills bills. As you can see there are still more bills than work!
My weight is still fluctuating between 197.5 and 199. I did briefly get down to 196 but I really mean briefly. It lasted one day (or probably one hour!).
On a bright side of things…I have a hig grade urinary infection. Ok, that is not the bright part. It became noticeable today so I went to the walk in clinic. Lo and behold, the doctor there is going to run a 6 week weight loss programme. I asked them to have him call me. There is a fee, but there is a fee with weight watchers! So, I will see how much it costs. Noting how upset we are about our weight there must be a mental health/emotional health or just plain health issue that allows us to write it off on our medical plans, right???
Anyway, I will check in on the usual sites and hope you are all doing well.

Thanks, Dritta, for your supportive posting. Yes, I am still holding at 197.5. I said it before and I will say it again (because at my age brain cells die and we forget!) when I weighed 200 pounds, 197.5 was an oasis- a dream goal - but now that it will not leave me…197.5 is my enemy. It taunts me. It is the very nemesis of my being!!! But I am ever hopeful that today is the day I break the mean witch’s spell and tomorrow will be a 197 day!
At least I am somewhat holding. AND I know I ovulated. In fact, anyone for miles of me knows I have ovulated!!!!! *grrrr*
