Woooohooo!  I am back down!   I know I said “I wont weigh myself until after TOM” . Well it is still impending and after I spent 5 minutes in the bathroom (um how do I put this delicate)  releasing water I lost ALL of my water weight!  Wooohooo!   Now I wont weigh myself until after my TOM.    LOL

I go to the eye doctor today.   Until I get my new glasses I cant drive so DH is taking me.  That darling man will be helping with the teaching today as well.  My DS did extra school last night, even did his reading class in bed for 1/2 hour before he went to sleep. This was on the promise that if he got AHEAD by the time my doctors appointment was over, and he behaved, and he does some extra credit school work that we will go to the movies after the appointment.  That was enough for my DS who sooooooooo wants to see IGOR.  He put aside his x-box, Nintendo, etc…. and slammed out a good amount of work. I had to make him re-do the handwriting. I explained the point of this was neatness not speed.  LOL  I was impressed with how much he did.  So I am going to see a movie ALLLLLL BY MYSELF while DH take the boys into see IGOR.  There are two good movies that will be coming out soon. A historical drama “The Duchess” and “The Day the Earth Stood Still”  (re-make). They both look good but are not out yet.  The point for me is to sit alone, relax, not be on, and melt into the movie.  I have been under a  lot of stress and DH is so sweet to do this.

I have been reading a book called  “30 Days to a Simpler Life”  By Connie Cox & Chris Evatt.   I have to say I am pretty impressed with some of the ideas.  EXAMPLE:  Take three boxes and spend 20 minutes every day for a week going through your home. BOX 1  :Things that are in such disrepair they need thrown away.  BOX 2: Things you no longer want and will donate to charity.  BOX 3: Things you might want to keep or are unsure about. Keep this box for one month and if you did not need anything from it donate it.  You should do this once a season.  I love ideas like this. I find the more I de-clutter my life, simple

WOW! The deleted half my post and all of my spelling corrections!  Oh well I did go on and on. Maybe their site was sick of hearing me???    LOL

I was talking about creating a cleaner, more simple environment to live and work in really helps with the rest of your life. i don’t know why it just does. I also was talking about a chap. I am ready to go in about clothes and the french women as examples. We shall see.

What a fantastic day!  DS not only finished all of today’s school work by today, he worked ahead in reading, handwriting , and spelling. My second doctors visit went wonderful. Everything came back clear. I even got to see photo’s of all of the inside of my eyes! optic nerves and all! It was sooooo cool.  

After the doctors we went to the book store to purchase some flashcards for DS (2), and a workbook for DS (9). I will use this for extra credit.  After lunch the boys went with DH to see IGOR while i went to see Eagle Eye.  WOWIE that was one goood movie! It kept me on the edge of my seat till the last. 

I just finished a dinner of roasted chicken, raw spinach salad, green beans, the last tomatoe from our garden and hot sauce!  YUMMOOOO!  I seem to be on a chicken kick these past two weeks.  When I feel like the kids might start clucking I make them  polish turkey sausage, fish sticks, or turkey sloppy Joe’s. These are all foods they love but I cannot eat!

Well this is just nice. I am cramping up a storm, bloated and feel like a human blow fish, and I weigh 199.0 to top it all off. Well isn’t this just a nice start to my week????   Aw heck its not worth getting steamed over. I am bloated and weigh 199 because I am due for my TOM. So the weight is NOT real . However the bloating is.       :lol:

I cant spend too much time on here because I have to get DS (9) school together for the day. We plan on an outing to the library, a garden center, and if it is nice enough a park to eat lunch. We will school on the road as we always do on Mondays.  I was going to wait until next year to start Spanish however the fact that we will be putting him into building school makes that not possible. Sooo I am going to start teaching him this year. My wonderful aunt gave my DS a laptop to use for school. She also gave us a CD spanish program to listen to and we bought a Computer CD program for Spanish for kids. My son is pretty excited about doing this program (he is 1/2 Mexican, 1/4 Irish, & 1/4 African american)  My idea for him this year is to really study his cultural background and use it in school  (social studies, cooking, art, reading, foreign language). Do any of you have ideas???? I am open to anything (remember he is 9)   Thanks

Well  I worked out early and again  WOOOHOOO I worked up a sweat and my BUM hurts!!!!!!!!  Its a great feeling when you are done and sore because you worked hard. I only lasted 15 minutes!    LOL

Thank you for your comments and support. I love the idea of reading with fun voices.  am going to try accents as well. Nothing like Cat in the Hat or Goodnight Moon read with a french or Irish accent!   LOL  he will love it and it will make it fun and a challenge for me.  LOL   I know I am crazy.  LOL          You are right NOTHING  NOTHING tastes as good as I feel being healthier and thinner. I may one day be able to eat small amounts of these things in the faaaaaar future. But right now I have a body to get in order.     ;)

Wow did we have one full day! We woke up early so that DH cold go out and cut more wood!  he finished painting the ugly cranberry shutters a shiny black.   Maybe they were only ugly because they were painted 10 years ago and were faded.     We hit the road and DS did his spelling and English in the car on the way to our walk.  After the walk on the way to the nature center to study some animals for science he did his Math.  Later on the way to the library he did his handwriting and reading. At the library he picked out a history computer CD to do at the library.  While he did this I looked into some low carb eating books, and a few books on teaching toddlers with games.  I LOVE the library. I love the smell of the books, the endless array of choices from every aspect you can think of.    I know I am so weird!   LOL

On our way home we went by a moving sale right by our house. I bought three pairs of pajamas, one pair of jeans, six shirts, eight books, a huge box of Lego’s, and a Elmo phone for my DS (2). The people there had a three year old son , so he was a few sizes larger than my son. I also found a few DVD movies for my 19 year old son. It all came to a grand total of $10!  That’s right  $10!  Wooohoooo

We got home and while i was sanitizing all of the new toys and books DH went out and made a better dent in the wood pile.  I made some baked chicken and a HUGE spinach salad. The boys had leftovers and chicken.  sigh    BOYS can eat you out of house and home!

I have my second eye doctors appointment in the morning . I am a tad nervous that he wants to do this extra test. No sense in putting the horse before the cart and worrying. 

Well I must dash and answer some wonderful comments.

Hello all of you sisterchicks. How are all of your weekends so far? I was so thrilled when I got on that scale and it said I lost more weight! Wooohooo!!!!                :)

We went to church this morning. The preaching was wonderful as usual.  I got a chance to talk to two women from my church. One of them is truly an amazing woman of grace who is going through so much yet still shows concern for other people no matter how full her plate is.  She is someone who I really admire.

After church we went to get some lunch before heading out to an apple festival . OH my boys had so much fun!!!  I had so much fun just watching them. Next week we will be going to another apple festival and then the next day a pumpkin festival. The following week the Metro Park has a haunted (very tame rated g) train ride that the boys LOVE.  I love this time of year!!!  We bought some apples, pears, and stick candy for the boys. I have to admit the fresh , warm, yeasty, smell of warm out of the oven doughnuts just about KILLED ME!!!!  I think I drooled all over the floor!     :lol:

When we got home DH went out to cut some wood for the wood pile. My own private lumber jack!  ooolala   LOL  sorry. I could not resist.

I made turkey sausage and bratwurst for the boys and I had veggie burgers. I cant see having one turkey sausage in one wheat bun  when i can have two veggie burgers on one wheat English muffin for the same points.  I STILL want that doughnut!!!!!  I am glad the place is a 30 minute drive away!  or i would be in BIG trouble!!!

Well that is about it sisterchicks I have to go because my DS is hanging on me crying out for attention.  Sigh  “cat in the Hat” for the 20th time today!!!!!!   I love every minute of it!        ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Good morning to all of you sisterchicks!!!!  I want to thank all of you for your wonderful comments yesterday on my finally hitting one-derland. You are all so nice, sweet, supportive, and are all really happy for me. This is one of the main reasons that I have been able to make it this far on this journey. Support is so important. So sisterchicks    THANK YOU!!!       :)

I have named my new machine ELLI (e-ll-ee). I figured it was fitting.   Oh my goodness I made this pasta dish that had a sauce from Napa Valley and had Napa Valley wine in it. Along with capers, three kinds of olives, garlic, and diced veggies (I added ground turkey). The boys and DH had it over rotini and I had it over 1 slice of whole wheat pita. YUMMMMMMOOOOOOO!  Worth every bit of the 6 points!!!!!!!  I had been staying away from pasta so long i did not have sauce either. not anymore I will have it over zucchini, or spaghetti squash, or wheat pita.  Who needs pasta when you have a YUMMY sauce???

Well DH is working his 16 hours today. SIGH  I miss him already. I just hope that my dear sweet son (16) doesn’t give me problems because DH is not here to keep him in line.  Well today is cleaning day. At least it will take up some of my day. DS (2) will get a lot of attention from me today as well. I need to work with him today in his speech therapy, flash cards, shape puzzle, and read a few book with him. I am sooooo thrilled to bits that he learned two more signs (book & sleep). He has to be prompted but any communication with this dear sweetheart is a blessing to me.  My 9 year old DS will be so happy that it will be nice out. He will go out with all of his army men and set them up in dirt forts for hours.   :)      Well did I bore you enough???   LOL

I have an appointment with my trainer ELLI  (machine). Talk to Y’all later.  Toodles!

I will tell you something. My workout with Elli was a killer!  She kicked my A-double snakes!!!!!  My tush is sore in places that I did not think it was possible to have muscles! My arms are even sore. I could only last for 15 minutes on that machine. I was pouring sweat. That treadmill did not hold a candle compared to this machine!  The nice thing is I have weak ankles and bad knees and it did not bother them in the least!  I also put that machine right SMACK in front of a t.v  No more music for me right now.  ;)

I did my housekeeping. I consider it a workout the way that I go at it.  LOL    I try to get the house clean (except laundry) within 1 1/2 hours.  Then I spent some time with my super sweet DS (2)  You want to know something that is sooooo cute? We bought him a mini dirt devil children’s vacuum. It really works (not as good as a real one)  I had no idea that he watched me when I cleaned until he picked up his dirt devil and put it on the couch and vacuumed the couch!! I do that (crumbs).  It was sooooo cute!!  My little man (2) helping me clean.   LOL

I miss DH when he has to pull extra duty.  Oh well he will be home around midnight. sigh    :(

Hello sisterchicks. I just had my dinner (7 pm). When DH works through dinner I eat after the kids have had dinner, dishes are done, and kiddies are settled down with a movie or a book.   I am in the middle of a really good book. It is called ” Girl with a Pearl Earring”  by  Tracy Chevalier.  It takes place in the 15th century in Holland. It centers around the housemaid of famous artist  Vermeer. It is cleaner than it sounds. It is actually very good and in the style of “The Other Boleyn Girl”.  I am hoping to finish the book tonight.   I am also going to watch an old favorite movie of mine “Mystic Pizza” with Julia Roberts. It reminds me of my life when I was 18.

Wooooohooooo! I am in one-derland!!!!!!!!  I am soooooooo excited and thrilled!  I have not weighed one hundred anything for well over a decade! I was starting to feel like I would never get here.

Well the elliptical machine is almost all put together. DH said he will finish it tonight. Then I will have my first workout on it Saturday morning. Today I am taking it easy and not working out. I am however going to finish my week of teaching, clean a tad, catch up on the mountain of laundry .  I go back into the eye doctor so he can give me the other test he could not do when my eyes were dilated.

I am not really looking forward to Saturday because DH has to pull extra duty and that means he will be gone 18 hours (including driving time).

I have to really consider the path that I need to take to put my body into a state of ketosis. The South beach Diet looks healthy but kind of boring. The Atkins diet looks not as boring but what will it do to my cholesterol?  WW is great but not really good for Ketosis/ Although I need to look at their core plan and see what that is all about.  I hate change. I usually will fight it tooth and nail. I know that in order to undo damage from my disease I HAVE to change a few things.  Then there is the food cost to consider. Hmmmm a  lot of thinking to do.

Omgoodness! I am pooped!  Three tests today (math, English, Spelling). Now poor DS is doing Social Studies, his journal, and handwriting. Then he is finished for the week and SO AM I!!! Woohoo!!!

My other dearest son (2) will not eat again. sigh sigh sigh sigh!!!!!!!   grumble!   For breakfast he had a soy yogurt. For lunch he had apple sauce and a cracker because he would not eat the apple, carrots, chicken or the roll. I just put him down for a nap with some soy milk.  I am sticking to my guns. I will not cook special order (except for allergies) because of pickiness anymore! he eats what is put in front of him or have a few crackers (not enough to stuff him) and fruit sauce.  I am not a short order cook for a family of 6!  There alll better. I had to gripe.   ;)

Well I am off to finish some laundry, do some dishes, and then lunch and a book for me.   :)

Well sisterchicks it is almost Friday and I for one am so glad. I got on the scale today after going over my points for the first time in months and saw that I lost almost 2 pounds! Go figure! I had two chicken breasts for lunch rather than just one. Plus I had two servings of dip with extra carrots and one extra serving of fat free Pringles.  Weird! But that is my body WEIRD!!!

I have my  eye doctor appointment today. I hate when they dialate your eyes. Plus he will see how bad my glaucoma is (did I spell that right??)

DH co-worker father dies from that accident that DH was covering shifts for. So DH will be pulling extra duty on Saturday. That means he leaves at 5:30 a.m. and will come back around midnight that night. SIGH  I hate when he is on duty that long.   Oh well we really need the money for bills so I should not complain. I should be grateful.

Well I need to go spend some time with Mr. Treadmill. Have a wonderful day sisterchicks! Toodles!

Hello, what a loooooong long, long day! I went o my doctors appointment. The Glaucoma is almost nil. I do have Diabetic cataracts. That explains my fuzzy night vision.   The good news is this is the ONLY type of cataracts that is completely reversible!!!  I just to really get my glucose in check.  This is good news.  He wants me to come back for a field vision test to see the bowl of my eye or something like that. I tend to get all glazed over when doctors get so technical on me.  DH wanted me to pick out some really nice glasses that I now have to wear ALL the time. Not just when I am driving or reading a lot or at night ALLLLL the time. So I picked out these oh so cute GUCCI glasses.  After insurance they will only cost us a total of $200. Not too bad.

Then because I was soooooooo BORED on my treadmill and cannot get my heart rate up for anything I took it into a sports consignment store.  I come to find out that my incline did not go up proper. It only went up to 3% even when it read 10%. No wonder. To make things really funny. I NEVER noticed!!!!  I am such a huge idiot! I never noticed that it would not go up to 10% even though it read 10%!  OY!!!!!!  So since I am so bored with the treadmill the owner traded a new elliptical (nice high end one) even Steven for my treadmill. Wooohooooo!!!!!  He had three of the kind I liked in stock and said he can sell my treadmill easier than the elliptical in stock. Soooo he got my old used treadmill and now DH has a brand new elliptical to put together.   :lol:

I just had some veggie burgers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and jalapenos for dinner. YUMMOOO!!!!  That is about it for now. Thank you all of you WONDERFUL sisterchicks for all of your nice thoughts, prayers and well wishing for this appointment. It meant so much to me.    Toodles!

So thank you for the idea!!!  You know who you are.   ;)   Plus I realized that posting a graph or a graphic is not impossible for me to do. Now I just need to figure out how to post a photo so that I can show my before /during/ and one day after photos.

Well even though I know it will be just a matter of time before my body stops retaining water and loses this weight I still am a touch annoyed. Such is life. I will deal with it. I certainly am not about to do a happy dance over a few ounce gain.    :lol:

I need to do some serious thought over how to rev up my workouts. I am thinking of buying a step, some workout DVD (from 1/2 price books), and a set of lighter weights. This way I can alternate what I do everyday. Boy is my body in for a surprise!   ;)

Well I am off to start my day of working out, teaching, flashcards/puzle/read to DS(2), and then maybe just maybe later read a little. I got this cool book on frugal living. It is really good. Well that is all for now sisterchicks.

Is it morning already??? September 23, 2008

6 a.m.

Good morning sisterchicks! I am up. However the coffee has not kicked in so there will be a ton of spelling and grammar mistakes!   LOL

Today is a full day of teaching, catching up on my mountain of laundry, getting fall/winter linens down to wash, light cleaning. I am hoping to have some time to do flashcards with DS (2). Maybe even a few puzzles with him and some story time. I have to make it a point to spend more one on one time with my DS. I tend to get caught up on teaching (which is fine) but the house should come after time with DS (2).

((Patty))  K-Nex  is a toy that is something in between Tinker Toys and an Erector set. It is plastic though and not wood or metal like good toys used to be.  Even though my DS’s have the x-box and Nintendo Ds I try and make sure they have good old fashioned toys as well (Lincon Logs, Lego’s, Tinker toys etc….)  I limit their Video game playing so that they can choose to play out of doors, with real toys, or read.  I know that sounds strict but I don’t want them planted and doing nothing but video games.

Well I have a new book on CD set from the library that I will start this morning. DH is getting his hair cut today in the little barber shop in town. (JUST like Floyd’s in Mayberry)     ;)

Okay I weighed in at 201.8 again dang it!!! But I went back to look at my loss over time and realize its not so bad. Here are my stats.

Can this day get any longer????  DS has had play dishes in the kitchen to play with while I cook or do dishes. Well he has been throwing his dishes in the sink or the dish drainer. I have told him over and over to stop. Well he did NOT stop. Today he threw his dishes in the sink where I had a VERY old crystal cranberry sauce dish soaking to clean it. A huge hunk broke off.  It was a family heirloom.   sigh. To make it worse he threw  his mini pan in the dish drainer and broke a glass.  sigh  So I spent a good 20 minutes up crystal and glass. All of his kitchen stuff is in time out for a LOOOOONG time.  as mad as I am right now FOREVER!!  No just kidding.  It is just stuff/things I know, I know.   sigh      :roll:

 

Well because I have my eye doctor appointment this Thursday I am trying to get Thursdays school into the rest of this week (today & Wednesday).   DS is so not happy about that. He will be happier when all he has to do on Thursday is read.     ;)

I have not eaten yet today. This day has been so crazy busy that I just have not had the time.  DH called me today and his co-agents father died so DH will be pulling some extra duty to cover for the other agent.

Okay complain, complain, complain.  OKAY it is now time to stop this stuffing nonsense!!!  NO more griping!!  Better attitude coming right up.    :lol:

You are so right Patty. I have nothing to say in my own defense because there is none. I went out and bought some WW cheese and a few WW yogurts. I am also going to hard boil some eggs tonight. This way I can have egg whites, 1 point cheese or 1 point yogurt.  I promise I will do better.  

I had a fantastic dinner tonight. I broiled some chicken breasts (thighs for the kids who hate breasts), made some green beans, carrots, and rice (not for me).  I am full and it was GOOOOD!

I have been going through kind of the same things as Patty on the treadmill. I am having a tough time getting my pulse rate up and working up a sweat. I cant go faster than 3.4 without hurting my knee and back. The other thing is I am soooooooo bored!!! I am bored silly with the treadmill.  I am thinking of getting some DVD’s (low impact). This way I can do some days of treadmill, some with weights , and others with the DVD’s. I am hoping this will mix it up enough to make a difference.

Tonight THE BIGGEST LOSER is on. I am so excited ! I missed it last week. I am not missing it tonight.   ;)

I am guessing that it will be well worth it when I get there.  On the agenda for today is English in the van (on the road), a trip to the zoo, Math in the van, lunch, Spelling in the van, a trip to the library, reading in the van, home…….

I just remembered that today is the first day of FALL. I LOVE fall!!! I love getting apples from the apple farm with the kids, I love taking the kids to the pumpkin farm and let them pick out their pumpkins and then take a hayride. I love walking in the crunchy leaves that smell so good. I LOVE and plan on having (at least once) hot mulled cider. I love to decorate the house with dried corn, pumpkins, autumn scented candles . What do you guys like about fall?

Today was fantastic!  We went to the zoo and the exhibit to pet the stingrays was free. The boys just LOVED doing that. I touched one and it jumped up at the same time, freaked me out, I yelped and jumped back and made the guys next to me jump back pretty far.   :lol:

After the zoo DS finished his school in the van as we went to the library. After the library we went to the second hand store where I found a black Ralph Lauren blouse ~soooooo pretty!  DH found a sweater for this winter, and I found a complete 200 piece K-nex set for $5.00!!!  Brand new in the box!!!   That will be saved for Christmas.  I did so much walking today my thighs are really sore.

I just finished a dinner of cold leftover chicken, green beans, carrots, and hot sauce all over the chicken!   Oh yeah I had a serving of fat free Pringles! Yummo!  The rest of my boys had burgers, veggies and chips.  All excpet my youngest DS. He ate real well today but all he wanted for dinner was an apple. At least its healthy. My toddler freaks me out with his weird eating quirks.  Oh well his doctor said its normal.   Well that is about it for today sisterchicks.  Toodles!

7 a.m

Okay I broke my own rule about taking a day off from working out and got on the treadmill today. WHY? Cause I got on that dang scale and it said 202.6!!!!!   You know what? I am sick, sick, sick of not only gaining weight for TOM but gaining weight for ovulation as well!!!!  Every blasted month this happens. Now you would think that the rational woman that Joy can be would just see and accept this as a pattern and deal with it, move on, and wait patiently until my body loses the water weight from my lovely hormone surge that I have TWICE A MONTH!!!!  Like clockwork I have my TOM, and two weeks later (I ovulate weird) I start to go into ovulate mode, stop losing weigh even gain a pound or so in water retention. Then a week later it drops, and I will lose another pound or so. Then two weeks later I retain BEFORE TOM only to lose the weight the second day of TOM.  My body is crazy. Please excuse the language but this SUCKS!!!!  I am sooooo careful about my points. I am soooo careful to workout at least 30 minutes a day (45 on most).  WHEW!

Okay now. I feel better. I had to get that off of my chest. Now i will just keep plugging away. I am not about to binge now (have not binged in months now - a record for me).  This is just a part of life, a part of my journey. This is a part of the consequence of wrecking my body with bulimia (a decade ago) and then after binging (no bulimia). I know it will come off, that I just need to be patient and go with the flow and not be so damn upset every time my body rebels against me.  SIGH   It seems that patience is a virtue God has been trying to instill in me for a looooong time. You would think I would get it huh?    LOL

Well off for coffee, church and fun! Toodles!

Well we played hooky from church. I have to admit I am relieved because I have been feeling so disconnected in church ever since all of the crap went on.  Enough of all of that.  ANYWHOOOOOO   we had a GREAT day!  We took the kids on a 50 minute flat/silt/trail hike. It was so pretty outside and we had so much fun.  Afterwards a store we know is going out of business so we went and did some Christmas shopping.  Then I went a bought a bra. I figure after losing 60 pounds it was time.  The bra I had was not holding the ladies up anymore so a new bra was in order. I only went down one size. However the ladies are far more up north than SOUTH   LOL      After that we went to the store where i bought some dinner items. While DH mowed our few little acres I made dinner of baked chicken, corn, baked potatoes (for them not me) and raw carrots. It was really good.  DH is now in doing the dishes for me so i can hop on here and say cheerio to all of you.
