Never give up.
When I began this healthy (mind, body, spirit) journey in February 2007 I promised myself I would never give up. If I ‘fell off the wagon’ so to speak, that did not give me free reign to quit all my hard work. If I missed a few days of exercising it did not mean I would resort to my former couch potato days. It meant I would continue my journey, but realize sometimes ‘life’ gets in the way. So in my previous attempts at losing weight if life got in my way, I just caved in and gave up trying all together. Luckily, this time around with my new mindset I acknowledge that yes, sometimes life does get in the way, but I’ve learned how to adjust and go on. That is one thing that I am the most proud of. I realize that a day or two of not eating well or a few missed days of exercising isn’t going to make me fall back to my old ways. That to me has lifted such a HUGE burden off my shoulders. If the scale isn’t nice to me and shows I have gained 1, 2 or even more pounds I do not give up. I take control, re-adjust my diet/exercise and march on!
This week is a perfect example of my motto needing to be in place firming. TOM is beginning and life was my week filled with odds and ends. So knowing that, I am prepared to miss a few exercise times as well as maybe not eating as healthy. I also know especially with TOM the scale in undoubtedly go up uP UP! That’s okay I tell myself. It’s not me giving up, it’s life happening.
