Cute, but fat.

Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

Duck, Duck goose…

Today I took my son to a little apple orchard that happens to have a nice pond and some ducks.  They sell duck food so we bought some and fed the ducks. Ooh…I so enjoy doing this!  I am an animal lover and I just get a kick out of watching those ducks bee line for the food.  Luckily, they don’t have to watch their figure!

I am all twitter that summer is winding down.  I know I am in the minority here, but something about the beginning of school and what’s to come next is so exciting to me.  I bet I will change my tune come mid December and there is a foot of snow on the ground.  That’s the price for living in New Hampshire.

Tra la la…

Ooh…remember The Banana Splits TV Show!  I just downloaded the theme song and it’s put me in a fun mood!

I’m having a hard time accessing this blog.  Apparently after the recent upgrade all isn’t back to the way it was before.

What a beautiful Sunday here in NH!  Sunny, a bit humid, but very bearable!  Went rummaging this morning and found some nifty vintage items. A Bugaloos Metal Lunchbox, a Barbie and Ken Coloring Book 1962, a few old TV Guides and the most prized possession….drum roll please…..a 1945 Modern Screen Magazine with none other than Dana Andrews on the cover. He is dreamy…..

The count down begins….

until the first day of school. Let’s see….exactly 11 days!  Can you say…Hip Hip Hooray! hee hee

I don’t think I’ll ever really grasp this dieting thing.  Some weeks I gain, some weeks I lose, but I am consistently doing the same exact thing week after week.  Two weeks ago I lost 3 pounds….last week I gained 3 pounds and today I lost 2.5 pounds. huh?  Not complaining, I just don’t get it!

What an incredibly beautiful day here in New Hampshire. Sunny and low humidity is on tap for today.  I can’t believe we are in embarking on the last month of summer.  Can you say Halloween candy??  This morning while at the market lo and behold a Halloween candy area is already set up ready to go.  Why is it that M&M’s (my vice) taste so good in holiday colors? hee hee.  Why is it that a Reece’s peanut butter cup taste heavenly shaped like a pumpkin? hee hee

The challenge of holiday eating isn’t too far off.

WIth that said I wish everyone a happy and healthy Saturday!

This thing called…..

Life….

Ever have those times in your life when things are going swell.  You are eating healthier and find yourself enjoying exercise.  Work seems to be going smoothly.  Personal life is A-okay.  Then…. WHAM!  You get thrown a curve ball.

Nothing tragic or mind blowing, more like inconvenience.  Soon your daily routine gets thrown out of whack.

What to do about this set back??  Inhale a bag of Plain M&M’s???   Maybe.

Or do you tell yourself this is life!  Nothing is perfect.  I am one who strongly believes that things happen for a reason.  So with this current ‘thing’ in my life I can choose to handle it the best way I know how.

I choose to accept it, go through it and know that there is an end in sight.  That reassures myself that NO, I am not giving up on dieting and exercising, that there is a bump in the road that I can’t change and will have to ‘deal with it’.

Sometimes things are easier said than done.

I promise myself that I will not beat myself up (hard for a perfectionist like myself) and let the chips fall where they may.

Wish me luck!

Son of a Beach!

Yep, you heard me right. Son of a beach!  I took my son to the beach today, silly!  I might add it was my first time wearing a bathing suit to the beach.  That in itself deserves and entire blog entry.  It’s a very nice family oriented beach.  It wasn’t over run with size ZERO babes flaunting their tiny bodies!  There were real women there wearing whatever they felt comfortable in and most importantly having fun with the family. I never thought I would wear a bathing suit to a beach ever in my life. Last year I wore shorts!  It wasn’t a itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini. It was cute nonethless and it covered up all the challenges I have.

August will be here soon enough and summer will pass.  More trips to the beach are ahead.  When summer is done I won’t be hanging up my swimsuit. I am going to sign up for swim class at the local YMCA!  I’ll give those size ZERO bodies something to look at! hee hee
