Cute, but fat.

Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog

I’m a true ‘dumb’ bunny…..

Bunny is my nick name, so I often use ‘bunny’ in a lot of references.

It just dawned on me that for the last 6 months I have been maintaining my weight.  I thought I had reached a plataeu of sorts, but after much thought I’ve come to the realization, that I am eating the same foods day after day, not changing the amounts, thus I have developed a maintenance mode.

DUH!

Sheesh, to start losing again I need to decrease my calorie intake daily.  I am making that a goal this week.  To alter my food intake so I can lose at the very least a pound this week.

Maybe soon I’ll graduate from dumb bunny….to…ummm…Playboy bunny.  :)

it’s funny how the light bulb just goes off one day…i believe too that not only eating the same foods makes you maintain, but so does lack of exercise. i truely believe that after a while of focusing so much on foods, that our bodies eventually just adapts to all different types of foods and different exercise routines are required for results…just my opinion. whatever you decide to do, i’m glad to hear that you realize that you need to change something to shed some more lbs. i wish you the best of luck with your goals and can’t wait to hear of the results!

Maybe not so dumb after all. I am a big re-gainer (gain it all back and more) and once realized if I would stop and maintain for a little while along the way, I could re-set my inner *what I should weigh* thingie and then start losing again.

As for losing more, usually either decreasing food a little or increasing exercise a little will do it. On the plan I’m on (Flat Belly), sometimes people re-do the four day *jump start* to get off a plateau. Do you do any weight training or other exercise that builds muscle? Believe me, that is the best way, because muscle burns more fat even while you sleep.

Just lowering calories lowers your metabolism and makes it increasingly harder to lose weight (or even maintain). Also, some people are eating too few calories to lose weight. That happens to me. If I hit a plateau I usually have to *increase* my calories so my body will realize we are not starving and it can let go of some pounds.

In any case, congrats on the maintaining and recognizing it and being ready to go again. You sure sound like a winner here!
