Nothing is a complete waste of time. If I hadn't made effort after effort that failed all those years... I would weigh well over 400 pounds today. And, all the things I learned through trying and failing are what enable me to know how to do it now. You're not wasting time as long as you keep coming back to get re-inspired! LOL

You do sound like you can really use a break. Maybe a sabbatical of sorts? I take one of these every other year. All it is is me getting away to amish country , or rent a small beach house and go for two days allllll by myself. No kids, no hubby, no t.v., no work, etc...... I take time and reflect , think, plan, hope, dream, and become myself again. (I also pray, read Bible but that is me). I have not done this since I was pregnant over 3 years ago. It may be high time for me to do this again. It dosn not have to be anywhere far or expensive, just NOT where you live. Just bring all the stuff that makes you feel good (favorite tea or coffee, favorite books, bath salts, candles, music, foods) Really pamper yourself. It will help.
sorry so long

I can totally relate...had a terribly sore throat for almost 2 weeks and it erased any energy and desire I had to exercise and eat well. I'm feeling better now, though, so no more excuses! :0)
Hang in there...it's okay to give yourself a break when you're not feeling well. The bean soup sounds yummy...have a good week!

That is exactly what I am trying to do. Make smaller mini goals to strive for. I have a LOT of weight to lose. Making the smaller goals makes it not seem like the endless journey.
Keep up the great work!

I just got Lisoprinol today. My BP was 145/88 in the medical office. And I just do think that is REALLY bad; it's been MUCH worse in the past!

I've been cautioned about the cough, but neither the nurse practitioner who prescribed it or the pharmacist said anything about the potty problems. UGH.

The pharmacist said if my tongue swells up, it means I'm allergic to it and to call the doctor (NP) right away. Also let her know if I get the cough.

I have to go back in two weeks and, since I also got a lecture about my weight, I'm going to try to walk quite a bit between now and then!

I used to love potato chips, but have given them up and turned to baby carrots, another snack I love. I have found that baby carrots with an organic salsa (usually comes in plastic reusable containers and lacks that preservatives the name brand salsas have) is an awesome and filling snack. Now baby carrots do have some calories to them, so I limit myself to 15-20 each snack, which is quite a bit when you put them in a bowl. Salsa has very few calories to it, and I use very little when dipping the carrots in. I normally will only put 1/4 cup if not less salsa in a bowl, so it's a minimum number of calories...

How did you find out you were hypothroid? I've looked at websites and feel like I share some symptoms. When I asked a doctor about it once, he looked blankly at me and said "you're probably healthy, just overweight."Is it a blood test or what?
