Where did October go?! It sure was fast and on top of that crazy. I did go to a specialist and he has put me on singulair to try and help with all my head problems. My infection left me with scars on my face and a patch of eyelash that might never grow back. Lovely.
Diet? what diet? All I can say is I’m still walking twice a week and dancing twice a week, so that keeps things from creeping on but doesn’t make things go away. I read about this website, weightview.com that you send them your digital photo and they send you back a picture of yourself 50 pounds lighter - good motiviation. I think I’ll give it a try once I take my photo. Check it out!
I did make it thru Halloween without eating too much chocolate. Lets face it - working at a bakery I can eat that stuff every day so you get kinda sick of candy. Now if I could only get sick of chips…

As always, when the weather changes I get a sinus infection. This is not the horror I had in the spring, but is just as crazy. Had a sinus headache that just wouldn’t quit, but no drainage, blockages. Well, it has to go somewhere, so it’s tring to come out of my skin!! my eye is really swollen and pimples trying to come out around eye sockets; just plain gross. I’m on antibiotics but think I’ll have to make another trip to the doc. Maybe a specialist.
Diet not so good this week. Nothing outrageous but nothing to talk about either. Walked and danced but not exactly feeling 100%. Back to work was a bummer but at least I have a job. Did sell an old gucci tote of a friends on ebay for $212 - yeah! Now if I’d only do that more often…

I had a pretty good week exercising and a so-so week eating. Walked 2 days and danced last night - boy are my legs tight! On the bad side I ate out twice this week. Still, I feel pretty good about my week off from work, and have managed to get some things done and rest. This weekend I have nothing planned but taking it easy; I might work a little getting my book garage cleaned up and in order but that’s it.
In the food department, I found a recipe online for black bean soup that is supposed to taste like the soup from panera bread - gonna whip some up on Monday. I walked to the library Friday and checked out a few cookbooks for browsing while on the couch. There’s nothing on tv anymore so I can catch up on reading. Maybe the new season will bring something fun. Last season was pushing daisies, year before heroes. 1 new show a year is all I can hope for. Next week: We walk Monday, them it’s back to work and salsa aerobics starts Wednesday.
I’ve serously been considering lap-band surgery. It’s a HUGE step for anyone, but I would be paying out of pocket ’cause my insurance won’t pay for anything like that. I also am very averse to selective surgery - my uncle died from a botched simple procedure. But I also feel as if I’m never going to get anywhere the way I’m going. Don’t want gastric bypass - too radical for me. I know it would be a real life change and a committment not only to changing my eating habits but to being in debt when I’ve been debt free for years - I even paid cash for my last car! But I’m not getting any younger or thinner. I might go have a consultation and get the facts.

I can’t believe that September is halfway gone! I’ve been my typical non-dieting self lately, and don’t know why I even keep doing this blog. I just can’t get back in the swing. I’ll start exercising but not watching what I eat or vice versa. One without the other is a complete waste of time for me. We did start back up on Thursday night line dancing and this week it’s back to walking now that school is in full swing. I bought a lot of stuff to make soup with this week and am finally starting to lose my craving for sweets, something that I usually don’t have trouble with; it’s salty crunchy for me all the way!
There’s a salsa aerobics class that is starting up next week and I think I’ll give it a go - something new to try.

It’s been a pretty good week. I can’t say I’ve done anything special but it seems to me I haven’t eaten as much as I usually do - don’t know why. I did a big grocery trip and actually bought some fresh veg and meat, which means I have to cook real food. Made split pea soup this morning and had cous cous and veggies for breakfast. I even bought some cereal so I can try to stop eating the big breakfast. It’s hard for me to eat a cold breakfast. My friend and I will start walking again in the morning now that school is starting up again and Thursday night dance starts in 2 weeks.
I’m on vacation this week from the bakery job so I can catch up on my internet business and then I’m taking real time in September just for me. I’ve started the “to do” list of things I’ve been putting off-ugh!

I’ve been in a rut about what I’ve been eating, so decided to hit the internet to search for some new recipes. myrecipes.com is a nice site, and they have some “10 recipes under 300 calories” pages with lovely pictures. I think I’ll try one of the mexican ones tonight. Eatingwell.com has a pretty nice set-up too. I always like to see the pictures that go with the recipe - food that visually looks great will make me take notice pretty fast.
I’m off to a wake tomorrow and have to make something, so I better get started. Hang in there!

I got on the dreaded scale this past weekend, and to my surprise I’ve only gained 4 pounds back of the 16 that I lost this year. Don’t know how - I’ve been eating everything I can get my hands on lately. So now I hope this will give me some incentive to get the ball rolling. Our weekly linedancing starts up again on Thursdays in September, and in the meantime I have my class and walking. Some friends of mine are running but I just can’t get into that; walking fast is better for you overall. This week I bought some great local green beans and some cremini mushrooms to get some much needed veggies into my tum. I LOVE green beans!

While I’m making no progress in getting my eating under control, I am still taking linedance lessons on Monday nights. My friend and I walked downtown on Saturday for 1st Saturday gallery walk and everyone had their dogs out on parade and dressed up. Favorite was the weiner dog with a squiggle of mustard down the top. Of course without the dieting the exercise does nothing for me except keep me from gaining. Somehow I can’t be bothered. I’m going to Baltimore to visit a former fatty friend so maybe she can give me some motivation.
Keep on keepin’ on!

While I haven’t really been dieting lately, I have started to exercise more frequently. A friend and I have been walking twice a week in the morning. I sell books online and got to the post office 3 times a week, so we’ve been killing 2 birds with 1 stone and walking to the post. Its about 10 blocks away so it works out well. I also signed back up for line dance lessons Monday night. So far I can’t see any progress but I know it can’t hurt. Now if I could just get back in the eating better mindset and get on my #@%$!! treadmill things might take a turn for the better. And no more ice cream!

As I’ve said in my past few blogs, I’ve not been dieting. After a horrible few weeks of being sick I just stopped caring, and have gained back all my weight. But I think I’m ready to get back in the groove. This morning I’m walking with a friend, and we’re going to do that twice a week for a start. I am FINALLY going to sign up for the gym tonight before line dance lessons. What got me going is my last trip to the grocery store, where I bought the women’s weekly mag. On the front is the girl who won Biggest Loser - 110 in 18 weeks! Now I know she worked out all day long, which is not feasible in the real world, but I figure I can go for it more than most. I have a very flexible schedule at my job and friends to cheer me on, so it’s up to me to really do something about my weight.
Time to start!
