I guess I run now

Just another 3fatchicks.com weblog, don’t ya know?

Rainy Sunday…

We still have work to do on the kitchen island, but it’s coming along nicely: another homerun idea by hubby. This huge thing is going to really make the most of some pretty wasted space. Of course, no home improvement marathon project would be complete without some bickering…right? Not a lot, but hopefully things will go better today. The island’s top needs oiling, the formica for the back & baseboard needs to be cut, and the doors/drawers need to be drilled for hardware. I’m seeing those as one-person jobs, that one person being hubby. & they are jobs I think he likes anyway.

Clearly I’m not getting to the Y this morning as planned. My workout clothes (every last stict) are in the washer…the ikea delivery came & I forgot everything else that needed to be done. I may try this afternoon. They posted the fall pool hours yesterday with plenty of blocks of time in there for lap swimming, so I may work in some swimming this month…which I love, but I always forget how hard it is.

Breakfast: usual

Lunch: salad with a slice of ham & swiss

Dinner: chicken pasta primavera (have to find a low fat version that will satisfy hubby & me).

Snack: 2 beers; 17 pretzels

Exercise: nope

I need to hit the pool, too, and get some swimming in for my “lazy triathalon.” I’ve done well on the running, but not so much biking and swimming. In fact, ZERO swimming. Yikes.

Yes, a little bickering is part of the home improvement process, especially when it comes to assembling or building. I’m surprised you have to do cutting and drilling with an Ikea island, though. Their stuff is usually pretty assembler-friendly!

Swimming is hard for me, in addition to being hard work! That whole breathing thing really gets me. As much as I love the water, I have never been able to coordinate that head-turn breathing thing at all. I would like to learn the breast stroke. I tried to copy how I have seen it done and I think I might like it if I really knew how. I am picturing myself at swimming lessons though towering over a bunch of six year olds! 8-O

“Same ole same ole”…my @$$!!! Funny, very funny bigprof! Hee Hee HA ha HOhO! What the devil’s this? You’ve signed up for a boot camp? I’m jealous! There’s no B/C out here in the Bay of Fundy…jeeze! Plus you get to swim laps..in a real pool…excuse me I’m blubbering all over myself…so sloppy of me.
What? A new resolve to shed those pounds and, poke me in the eye with a stick, new runners to go along with that!!! Where do I sign up for that? I’m in!

Did I miss anything? Oh yes..a new kitchen island on which to prepare healthy meals when you get home from boot camp. WAHWAHWAH!!! Please let me come live with you and hubby…Pahleeeeeze! I don’t need much space. I could live in your kitchen island. I’m so so so used to islands already!

*New runners are now something I simply cannot live without a second longer! :)

Ooh, you’re brave. Working on home-improvement projects together is dangerous territory. We put together an entertainment center the day we got back from our honeymoon and nearly got divorced :) Hope the pool works out for you!

I have entertained the idea of swimming. The gym has a lap pool. However, I feel I would look foolish. Although I am a Florida native and can swim, it is not the “proper” way and therefore I would look silly… in my opinion. I would love to do it though!! My shoulders are big enough to sport the “swimmer shoulder” look.

Good luck on your island! My hubby and I can’t do anyhing domestic (even cleaning!) without bickering. It’s how we roll.
