Why have I been MIA so long? I have had some ups and downs that I failed to document!

The big news for the blog is that it has a new name. Yeah it used to be “Losing 20% of Me” and I just changed it to “Losing 25% of Me”. Why? Because I have now lost 20% of my starting weight! How cool is that? I have now lost 44 pounds, and only have 6 more pounds to go to reach my goal of 50. I am really hoping to reach this goal by Christmas so I can enjoy some Christmas festivities!

I really don’t know what I am going to do after I reach my goal of 50 pounds gone. Should I try to maintain that, or try to lose more? If I lost just 3 more pounds, I would reach the goal of 25% lost, and if I lost 3 more pounds after that I would reach the goal of being considered normal and not overweight. But do I want to push for 6 more pounds (or more) after I reach the big 50? I think that it is even more scary to me to think about learning how to live in maintanence. I really don’t know how, and fear that I will gain it all back. So, I don’t know yet what I want to do.

I can definately see some changes in my body when I look in the mirror. I can now see my collar bones. This really makes me happy, because I have always thought they were so beautiful on other women, but had never seen my own. My stomach is also a lot different. When I look at myself in the mirror I can now see my whole stomach, instead of seeing a huge roll. No, I don’t look like a model, but I’m becomming a little happier with my body.

I Did it!

Today is the LAST day of September! And I am happy to announce that I made both my goals for the month! They were:

1. Lose 5 pounds. I lost 7!
2. Run a marathon (26.2 miles) throughout the month. I ran the last 2 miles last night! I did it!

I am really happy that I met my goals! Now I’m ready to start October, and here are my goals:

1. Lose 5 pounds.
2. Exercise 1200 minutes.

Man, if I lose 5 pounds in October, that will put me at 164! Yikes! I can’t wait!

40 Pounds !!!

I posted a 2 pound loss for the week, which brings me to a total loss of a whopping 40 pounds! I am so happy!

Only 2 more pounds to go to reach the 20% mark! And 10 pounds to go to reach my goal of 50 pounds lost! Yippee!!!

Half Way

Wow, we are already halfway through September! So far my goals are still going well! I have run 13 of my 26.2 marathon miles for the month, and have lost about 4.5 of my 5 pounds for the month! I am well on my way to meeting my goals! I wonder what my goals should be for next month?

I am also proud to be on the RED team, of the Biggest Loser challenge on 3FC. This is my second competition, and it just started this week. It is fun to have a team and get to know new people. It also helps keep me on track because I know I have to be accountable to them.

So Far So Good

#1- Run a marathon (26.2 miles) throughout September. I ran another 2 miles today, for a total of 4 for the month so far!

#2 - Lose 5 pounds this month. This morning I was down 2 pounds! Yippee!

September!

Ok, my September goals start today, and I am EXCITED to be back on track!

Goal #1: Run a marathon (26.2 miles) throughout the month. Today I ran my first 2 miles. I’m out of shape! I need to be able to run farther at a time to make this goal!

Goal #2: Lose 5 pounds this month. This morning I weighed in at 176, so to make this goal I will need to weigh in at 171 on the first of next month. I bought a whole bunch of fruits and veggies this morning and made a really yummy salad for lunch with spinach, cucumber, red pepper and chicken. I really need to keep my eating in check to make this goal!

New Goals

Tomorrow begins the month of September, and I am ready for some new goals! My first goal for September is to run a marathon. Well, not all in one day, but over the course of the month. My goal is to run 26.2 miles during the month. We’ll see if I can do it. My second goal is to lose 5 pounds during the month. I’ll record my starting weight tomorrow.

I also just signed up for the next round of the Biggest Loser on 3 Fat Chicks. That means I will be weighing in every week for 14 weeks, and hoping to see a loss each week.

I am ready for a new month. I am ready for some new healthy habits. I am ready to be in control and feel better about myself.

I’m So Sick of Myself

I had been doing fairly well this week. But last night, and then again today I blew it. I don’t know what to do with myself. I feel like I just can’t do it.

Last night I was feeling sick and exhausted and just wanted to EAT. So I ate a few things that I shouldn’t have (no food porn here!). Then today, something at work made me very angry so I ran to the store and bought a bunch of junk and then ate it all.

I am so tired of myself. Why can’t I just get it together? I really don’t know what to do.

Gearing Up

Ok, I’m feeling a bit better today. Unfortunately, we visited my parents today which included a lot of food, but that’s ok.

I start a new job tomorrow, and ready to start a new plan for getting back on track too. I have come to realize that my last few attempts at starting my diet haven’t gone too well because I have limited myself too much too soon. Two months ago when I had lost 39 pounds, I was down to about 1400-1450 calories a day. So when I tried to get going again in the last few weeks I tried to stay around 1400-1450 calories and I think it was too big of a change. I was starving, which caused me to then eat too much.

So this coming week I am going to focus on eating only heathly foods (no sweets, salty things, fried things) and not worry about the exact number of calories per day. Then maybe the next week I will try to limit to 1500 or 1600 calories per day. I think this method will prove more successful.

I am nervous about starting the new job tomorrow. I hate being new and not knowing how to do everything. But getting back in a set routine will hopefully help me to get in a good routine of eating and exercise too. I’ve also got to stick to writing on this blog and visiting 3 Fat Chicks. Still not sure if I am going to sign up for the Biggest Loser, but I think I am going to.

Still Not Going Well

Well, my diet recommitment lasted 2.5 days. And then the last 2.5 days I have been terrible. I just feel like I CAN’T do it. The frustrating thing is that I know that I should be able to do it. I mean, I lost 39 pounds! But after a 2 month break, I just can’t get back on track. I just want to eat EVERYTHING, and ALL the time.  I am so down on myself. I feel like a failure and I feel fat and gross from what I’ve been eating. I just don’t feel like I have the strength to make good choices, and I feel bad, so I figure I may as well eat more anyway. What a horrible cycle.

But I’m still going to try again. I am committing to writing on this blog (even if no one is reading, I think it is helps a lot), and to visiting the 3 Fat Chicks Website everyday. I’m trying to decide if I should join the next round of The Biggest Loser on there. I was in the last round, but didn’t do too well the last month or so. I really want to do it, but I don’t want to start it if I am not going to keep up with it for the whole 3 months. So I’m not sure if I can do it.
