Visit to Dads

Had a crazy morning around here. With just one car on the road, it’s hard to get everyone’s plans arranged. Mom wanted to go visit my brother and his two girls while he had them for the day over at my Dad’s house. It is across the mountain and she’s having car trouble - wanted me to take her. I really wanted to go. DH had to be at work at 4. Brother wasn’t getting the kids til 12. Time crunch. Finally I was ready to call Mom and tell her we couldn’t do it. We could’ve waited til 4 and dropped DH off at work and picked him up later but DS had a birthday party to go to…

MIL saved the day and let DH borrow her car. DS decided not to go to the B-day party. So I got to spend hours with family. The kids all played and the girls are growing up so fast. We haven’t seen them in months (their Mom ran off with them for a while.. long dramatic story that doesn’t really need to be gotten into lol)

we had lunch which was a complete FAT FEAST. I told them so lol. burgers fried in a pan with so much fat they were almost floating and homemade frenchfries floating in more oil…

I did eat a burger plain w/ no bun or cheese and about 5 fries. Came home starving! I did get some fresh produce. Squash, eggplant and zucchini :-)

Cooked some on the grill with the London Broil I had marinated all day. Yum.. but I went very light on the beef since I’m trying to stay away from it and end up eating it twice in one day!

No clue what the scales are saying. Should be safe to weigh in tomorrow or the next day once TOM has packed his bags and gone elsewhere for a while.

4 days til my trip. I don’t think I have much hope of fitting into this sexy top I bought that’s a little tight! :-(

 ah well…

  1. Gotta give you credit for having such willpower at a family gathering… that’s like one of the hardest times for me!
