aaackkkk cough, sniffle - WHEEZE

I feel fantastic.

last night was fun - sniffling, coughing and runny ass nose. ;(

I actually made it to work like 15 minutes late and that loser toddler wasn’t in. FANTASTIC. Grueling day at work. Tomorrow will be just as bad but I’m gonna try to come in later….

My throat is sore as hell and honestly - popping 2000mg of Vitamin C this morning probably didn’t do the trick.

Good news: I found my receipts for Austin and can submit them tomorrow.

Bad news:
Ms. Crisis went for her health screening for her new job and they happened to tell her that they may not hire her due to an absence of CPE’s (something needed for chaplains) and some speculation if her British credentials would work for their needs. So she was upset when she went for the health screening and the MD told her that her blood pressure was very high. She explained that she was upset over the possibility of not getting the job and her ankles were swollen from sitting in the waiting room for hours on end waiting for the appointment to take place. So she’s now worried that on top of everything else, that MD may not pass her because of her blood pressure. I’m holding out hope, I really am. I can’t imagine that they are that rich to put her through a medical exam and NOT hire her. I have to believe that she’s a very good candidate and they thought it was worth it. Then to her horror, Friday her bathroom toilet literally sprung a gushing leak that ended up in the firetruck coming to her home to assist with it! She believes that there may be literally thousands of dollars worth of damage to the ceiling of her garage (under her room) and the insurance company will raise her rates so high if she puts a claim in that honestly she wouldn’t break even. She laughed when she told me that she wondered what would happen next because she thought things were looking up for her finally. I feel so bad for her.

UNIVERSE - please help out the CRISIS couple! Please bring them some wonderful joy!
dammit!

Meanwhile, I’ve got dinner with the dentist on Wednesday. I want to give it another chance to see if I can develop some chemistry with him. But today Divorcee told me that there’s a guy at her rowing club that is 52 and he’s divorced (years ago) - looking for a girlfriend. He wants to travel and he’s quite well off. He’s an investment banker and apparently getting some kind of really big inheritance? He’s got older kids. She wants to talk to her squeeze (it’s his good friend) so we could go out as a foursome. Wouldn’t that be awesome if we dug each other? He’s 6′3 and a real sweetheart she says. Then she said, ‘Shit, I should have gone for him - he’s in a much better place than my current guy!’. So we’ll see what happens - I told her to book it as soon as she got a chance. I can definitely try to turn up the charm :)

So looks like a few things may be happening. But you know I don’t hold my breath! ;) I’m excited about my rowing class next month! Meanwhile, I need to get my eating in order. Damn. It’s been rough.

I’m not quite there yet.

I’m glad I’ll be home this weekend. I can get a handle on things again. I’m going to bust my ass at work so I won’t be so stressed there….it’s been incredibly busy and with my new cold - I feel like shit.

A nice routine this weekend would be great. I think I’m only traveling this much this month only. Next month it’ll only be a Colorado visit.

Shit, it’s already 10pm! Dang. Getting home at 7:30 really doesn’t give you much time to unwind. No worries, it’ll be better next week.

To those of us who don’t have the best Dads - or shit - even marginally decent Dads.

We’re still awesome and guess what - someday we’ll get over it. :)
We’re a swell bunch here.

I’m soooo gwad doo be heeeah!

Sounds like things are looking up on the social scene, kiddo. Now, lose that cold! (That’s an order! - okay, well, a very sincere request, actually). No snotty noses allowed on your date with the dentist - or the other guy, either, and I’ve gotta say HE sounds like a mighty fine prospect to me!
Hugs,
Z

Ah, Annie girl, sorry to hear about your cold. Maybe your week-end routine will help clear it up. That guy from the health club sounds like a good possibility - did I tell you my sister met someone last year and married him within 3 months? She’s 56, he’s a little older. They seem really happy. It happens. It’s probably worthwhile to also see about that chemistry with Dentist. I’d sure give it a go! ;)
