Day 6 - No quite back on wagon yet!
Posted by 6weeks on July 29th, 2008 |Filed Under Uncategorized |
Well here we are on day 6 and I still haven’t completely managed to crawl and climb my way back onto the wagon. Yesterday’s slips included me eating chocolate on the way back from the shopping with the kids (why oh why do they put it near the check out?) (I know the answer is because suckers like me will buy it - it was a rhetoric question.) And then, I ate more chocolate in the evening with my hubby.
However, today is a new day and I am once again, off to Alnwick Gardens with a friend and a picnic. I’ve packed a lovely healthy picnic too, and my friend is the World Champion of WW Points. I’m not following WW but I know there will be absolutely no point in trying to sneak something unhealthy into my mouth today, as she will definately not allow it. Hmmm, maybe I should move in with her for a couple of weeks, I’d definately be thinner at the end of the move.
It’s now just over 3 weeks to go until I go on holiday to a cottage in Scotland. The cottage has a sauna, steam room, games room and a heated indoor swimming pool. Initially my idea was to lose weight so that I feel better getting in and out of the pool each day. I’ve lost 11lbs so far, but would love to make that up to 14lbs (or even more) by the time we go. I can definately do that can’t I?
Let’s go back to a few basics - I need to:
- Eat 3 healthy meals a day.
- If hungry between meals, have fruit only.
- Exercise 3 or 4 times a week.
- Drink plenty of water.
It’s not exactly rocket science is it? But here I am, 37 years of age and have been unhappy with my weight for the last 8 years. Come to think of it, I’ve been overweight since I had my first child (who is now 8).
Imagine if I stuck to my new regime of healthy food and exercise and by Christmas I was slimmer, more confident and healthier. That’s what I need to do I think … visualise the long term picture. Plus there’s a family wedding in about 5 weeks and then another about 6 weeks after that. What to wear, the photos, dancing, seeing members of the family from afar who haven’t seen me for a couple of years (when I wasn’t quite this overweight). Now there’s an incentive.
I’ve been trying to upload a picture of me but I keep getting told that the image exceeds the upload amount. However I think the upload amount is 20MB and my picture says it is 2.56MB. Any ideas anyone please?
